I'm a little bit interested in a 350 motor that is for sale locally.

All I know about it so far is that it came out of a 1975 3/4 ton Chevy pickup truck and that it has a mild cam and "performance" heads.

Would this motor most likely be a 2 bolt or 4 bolt main?

If I need to get a # off of it to further identify it, where do I look?

Any help is appreciated.
Kevin

Hard to say what it might be without the nums. Take a look at the stamp pad(engine ID #) nums, and the engine casting num, as well as the casting date. That will give you what the engine was originally.

Thanks for the info, Joel.
I should be taking a look at it late this week.
It's on a stand, so it shouldn't be too difficult to see the numbers.

Well,
I went to take a look at the motor today. I got the feeling I'd better keep going. Too many unanswered questions with it.
I did try to locate the i.d.# but honestly I couldn't find even a hint of a # there. Used a flashlight & a wire brush. N.G.
Ah well. Live & learn.
Thanks for the info. I'll put it to use next time I look at another 350.
