Some of ya'll may have seen this, but I never had until today. It came up on another tech forum I'm on for transmissions. The actual discussion centered around the use of one way clutches(sprags) on alternators...it got pretty heated before someone posted this...then it got even worse...

I have done that many times. You can also change out the generator or alternator in about ten minutes, the flat rate books give you almost two hours if I remember correctly. I worked on these little cars A LOT in a previous life, I bought my first one at 14 for $100, a friend of mine still has the same car, I sold it to him about 20 years ago.
