I'm at my brother-in-law's and he has a '90 Sedan De Ville with an interesting problem.  He can turn off the car and take the keys out but the radio/clock stays on.  Also, he gets a clicking from the relays behind the glove box.  When he takes out the relay for the power windows, the radio goes out and the clicking stops, but then of course, the windows don't work.

He said he's had this problem for a while.  He's gone through one battery already by having it get drained down.

He also said he replaced that power window relay, but that didn't solve the problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Amazingly enough, my D-Evil has the same problem...except the relay clicking part. It will pull the batt down if I don't start it every day. I ain't been too concerned about it yet, so I haven't done any troubleshooting so far. I'm thinking my problem is in the ignition switch, but...it could also be in the wiring to the stereo, as mine has apparently spent some time at BubbaLand at one time or anudder...
I guess I can check da wiring diagram and see if there are any common circuits between the stereo and the p-windows on yer BnL's car...

Wiring diagram doesn't show a relay for the power winders...just a circuit breaker in the fuse box. It does, however, show a relay for the radio, if it's a Deco/Bose system. The relay is for the power amps.
The only thing that both systems have in in common is the RAP(retained accessory power), which is what allows the radio and windows to keep power to them until the door is opened, after turning the key off. IF I'm right, that function is part of the BCM(body control module).  There are 2 relays associated with the RAP system, and they are both in the relay center behind the glove box. Your BnL may have a bad relay that is NOT disconnecting when the door is opened. Might try swapping those relays with something else in there, if there are other relays that are exactly the same...or you could just get new ones. Swapping known good ones is easier, tho, but they do have to match.
More research to follow...
