I can hear water sloshing in my Ford Van (1/8)

I have a 93 Ford Aerostar, 5 speed manual, V6. 65000 miles.
I can hear water sloshing in my dash above the heater. More when I drive around corners, I think??
Any ideas of what it could be before I tear into the dash?

Heater core has air in it, or someone lost a bottle of water(or Jack) up in the dash....
Could also be water standing in the vent area under the windshield, from stopped up drains. Usually, however, this would let water also run onto the floor on both sides...have ya checked the carpet?

Check the ac drain..might be clogged..

Carpet is bone dry.
I will check if there is any plugged drain holes.

One more thing... sometimes heater doesn't blow real hot air.
Leading to believe the heater core is at fault.

Regarding the FORD VAN Tongue

.... its been a real good rig. Very rare with the 5 speed manual.

I actually own 3 more Fords.. 79 Ford Courier with about 30k miles
                                        87 Ford 4x4 with about 35k miles

                                        And lastly.... a 1980 Ford Shay Model A with
   less than 1000 actual miles.


I love all original/ original paint/ low mileage rigs....

Another example is my 73 GMC with less than 24k miles.

The no really hot air...check to see if you have low coolant..or the blend door for fresh air is stuck open a little..with things getting cold lately so it won't take much to dilute the hot air..it may be a thermostat taking a poop too..I think this year may have a valve also on the heater core hoses too...might be a little investigation to find out what's going on. Rich

I'm sure you checked but is the coolant level correct, did you open cap and check the radiator tank itself? If air is in system like Joel sugested it may not give heat and it may be sloshin around at times....

I had a Tahoe that would not give heat and was surprised that I was loosing coolant, once I checked it on a regular basis I found it was using anti freeze BUT not leaking.....that went down the road shortly after that....... Stern Smile
