I first saw this concept about 5 years ago.

Compressed air is not free. Many factories are getting away from compressed air because of the energy it takes to make it.

The pollution may not be from the car, but it is from whatever source that is used to create the compressed air.

Electric power created from the sun to run an electric motor to drive a compressor to fill your tank may be the best solution.

And although you might run for several hours or 60 mph, you won't do both on a full tank.

But it is a novel idea.

[/QUOTE] Dave is 100% correct. Factories that use high pressure air, pay a fotune for the expensive initial cost, plus the upkeep. They also must have massive air driers to remove the moisture, very costly. Thanks Micki.........someday...........hopefully..........I'll need extra lbs. preessure for more HORSE POWER!corvette440hp2008-04-08 07:11:21

I have always been fascinated with the theory of perpetual motion. I'm sure that generations from now someone will come close. I don't know how there can ever be a perpetual fuel source, but I would love to be around to see it.

I think they have to be designed like that because the are carring BOB....... (bombs on board). How would you like to be tooling down the road when one of those air cylinders ruptures for some reason. I think "Til Death Do Us Part" might become an unexpected reality at that moment. I was thinking the same thing. They should have a plate covering the tanks to protect them from road debris.
