Check out my son, Justin, winning his 10.20 class in Albuquerque last week. Still running a stock bottom end! Built tranny, rear end, engine has hot cam and turbo, etc. Built it all himself in his garage. His best time was a 9.69 in Houston in March. Sure wish he lived a little closer... I could use his help. LOL He's in the far lane in the '02 Firebird WS6... Pretty awesome.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAg0gBEGhFk

Yeah.. it was pretty awesome, especially since he's raced this guy before and got beat. The GMC is a nitrous and Justin has a turbo. Usually it's a courtesy thing for the nitrous cars to allow turbo cars to build boost... not this guy! The last time, Justin moved into the second stage and got on his trans brake to build boost, the GMC waited till the last moment before getting disqualified and 'burned him down', as they say, by letting Justin overheat his tranny putting 8 pounds of boost into it. THIS time Justin had his car set up so he could build a couple of pounds of boost on his foot brake so when the GMC moved into the second stage, he's off his foot brake and on his trans brake. When he already has boost, it's only a fraction of a second to go from 2 pounds to 8 pounds. The other guy was trying to do the same as before, that's why they took so long staging. While the GMC is pulling wheelies, Justin is gone down the track. He had to back off at the end to keep from 'breaking out' of the 10.20 second time. Justin was hoarse the next day when I talked to him. Said he was screaming all the way down the track. LOLThumbs Up

Most (good)starters won't allow a burn down to start with...they'll redlight 'em if they think it's gonna happen. What a bunch of crap....we're here to RACE, dammit....quit playing around, and LET'S GO!
Congrats to the young-un! A cool head will usually win in the end.Thumbs Up
