Paul,
Sounds like you two covered alot of ground today. A big thumbs up to Bill! Good stuff!!
I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say after you git 'er done. Hope the rest of this job goes smooth.
I've got a 700R4 being rebuilt by a local guy who has a solid reputation. I can't wait either!!!
.....and two questions for ya, so far;
1) The new trans. cooler you mentioned - Are you going to have an external trans. cooler or will it be run through your radiator?
2) Do the braided trans. lines aid in the cooling process of the fluid?Joel Adams

Paul,
When you finish modifying the exhaust let me know how much work was involved.
My '79 has true dual exhaust and it's going in for a 700R4 later this week. I'm trying to look ahead to how much exhaust work this will involve.
What I'm hoping is that the long sections of exhaust tube can be cut out and replaced with correctly bent tubes. (It's welded.)
Let me know.
Kevin
'Sounds like a simple solution.
Hopefully I can get down to Jersey this year and see the Lukester in person.
Pipes aren't exactly right but close - I'll probably get over to the exhaust guys after the Lukester is up and running with the 700R4 and let them tweak and weld to get it closer to what it should be...
You're welcome to head on down to lovely Howell NJ any time to catch a cruise and a burger Kevin.

Hey Paul,
In reference to the RPM's, what ratio is your rear diff? Is it stock or did you change it in anticipation of the 700R4?
Did the 79's all have the same ratio from the factory?
