Well my ol buddy Marshall kinda missed this thread being posted. It was a fun thing we did after the Member Gathering. So since he has graciously already started us off let the fun begin. Thnxz Brutha.....

[QUOTE=manget1]

I'm surprised I haven't seen any lessons learned, etc from the gathering...

1. Full research is needed before visiting places found on-line. The Wisconsin attraction noted on the map as "Bong Recreation Area" was not at all what I thought it would be. Apparently some nature reserve... Boring!

2 Things that sound dirty, but aren't neccessarily:

    a. I was behind you and your rear end looks great!

    b. Would you sign my stick?

3. Getting the screen back in the hotel window after taking it out to take a picture of the cars in the parking lot is much more difficult than getting it out.

4. Attempts to take pictures of the cars in front or behind you in a Caravan will often result in great shots of your Sun Visors

5. Last, but not least - those jerks at GM killed the project for the car I knew I always wanted, but never knew they almost made - The 90's ZR-1 Convertible!!

Speaking to Al and hearing those stories was incredible. He made the offer for us to "Come back anytime." I think we need to make sure that in 2 or 3 years, we take him up on it.

Thanks everyone who was a part of this event. I know I had a great time and can't wait to see all of you again!

1. GPS systems always take you to the location you tell them too.

2. There is some great scenery and diners available when you choose "Avoid Toll Roads"!

3. Mitch is the King of the 3 word sentences in Catch Phrase.

4. Beads and glasses are a fashion statement of some sort.(Not only at Marti Gras)

5. Vette women crossing the street can be hazzardous to the health and seem to promote excessive horn honkin.

6. Some folks exersize by getting up ta run 5 miles.... Other folks exersize by walking up a hill to go shopping.

7. Blindz into ones room should alwayz remain shut to prevent OMG syndrome...

8. Terry is the undisputed "Limbo King" and his chiropractor loves him.

9. Fords don't look rite in a Corvette picture line up.

10. A pumkin colored car looks great against the fall scenery.

Mrs. Tux and I really enjoyed our get together. The Midwest Group is comprised of some great folks!

We hope that it continues to grow and new faces continue to join us as we move into a new year.

We look forward to when we can get together again and miss you already!

Ah yes, that reminds me of one more...

When borrowing the wife's GPS, check the settings to make sure she hasn't changed them to "avoid highways" when trying to get out of some of the worse neighborhoods in Chicago!

OK. You knew you would get my take on this topic. Here goes.

I learned that:
1. 3/4 of the roads between Michigan & Milwaukee are under construction, but they never seem to get any better.
2.When asking the front desk at the motel for a toothbrush, make sure you spend the extra $4.00 for a new one.
3. When going through the want ads in the Milwaukee newspaper, you never know what you'll find. Right TJ?
4. When Jim-Al shows up make sure he has taken his meds, and has his doctor on speed dial.
5. If Bob H. is asked to be in charge of anything, stand back as he has a tendency to start throwing furniture around.
6. If Tux and Lora ask you to move the furniture, and circle up. Make sure you begin your stretching exercise.
7. Bring your Ben Gay.
8. When having a cannonball competition, check the depth of the pool first.
9. If Patty suggests "sharing the love". watch her face as it turns as red as a C3VR sweatshirt.

And last but not least:
#10. When meeting this group for a gathering, plan on having a GREAT!! time.
Can't wait for the next.  "T & P"

Sounds like you had a great time.  Sorry I missed it.  We've been WAY too busy.  Hopefully sometime soon I'll be able to block out a weekend just for Vettin' around with you guys!

1. Pink "limbo poles" are is style any time of year.
2. I don't need my doctors on speed dial because the voices in my head tell me what to do.
3. You don't need to bring your Vette to these get-togethers (but it sure helps).
4. It's the height of the ceiling that counts, not the depth of the pool when cannonball competitions begin.
5. Hot tubs are just that - HOT tubs.
6. Other guests think that Corvette owners are all weird or somehow disconnected from the real world.
7. Any time spent with you people - is time well spent and good therapy.
8. When you need a little Thanks or comforting, C3VR people step up to the plate.
9. Don't chase Tux down the hall because Lora asks you to - he's a man on a misson.
10. Amish people broken down on the Indiana Turnpike appreciate a "Blue oval" truck w/ tow strap more than Chevy people do.

We had a great time and cannot wait til we meet again.
