This is a poll to see by a show of hands who would be interested in attending the MAM SPRING EVENT. We have enough time to notify the fine folks at MAM that we would be comming and they might be willing to rollout the proverbial [color=red]Torch Red[/color carpet for us...

I recently went to the 34th anniversary bash and had a good time. If there is an interest in an overnight stay the Holiday Inn Express in Highland, Il. is very nice and clean. Another bonus is next to the hotel is Farmers Restraunt. It is a family style restraunt with very good food and foot high pies....

If we can get a group together then Scott (CJNutz) and I will work together to set some things up for us.

I will update the poll accordingly if an interest is shown....

Those that don't want to come to Highland can meet us at MAM!

I just love going to MAM , always something new ! Toys to look at, Toys to buy!

I just told Suzy that I need to go ahead and get one of the Vettes ready for the trip if the weather cooperates with us.

ALl I need for the 77 is to fix the brake fluid leak.

I just got off the phone with Nancy at MAM.

We can plan more as we get more people on board , for now we have ...

Tour of their manufacturing plant

They are going to provide lunch for us after the tour

There might be a seminar and maybe other things as well

To make this happen and get sweeter , we need people on board for this.

I think it will be a good time !

Mid America Motorworks is holding its Spring Into Gear Saturday Event on March 15th. Lots of Specials, Sale Items & Fun.

I am also helping organizing a midwest cruise in for www.c3vr.com the same day.
There will be a plant tour which I know some of you already went on, they will provide lunch after the tour as well as other activities already planned for that day.

I know there is a lot going on and theres always weather issues and most of us have been to MAM a hundred times, but theres a few that I think would really enjoy this. You will also get to rub shoulders with other C3 nutz in the region.

The more that we can get to come , the more perks we can get from MAM !

I have no idea..

I have about 5 C3 owners that are not C3VR members that say they will be there weather permitting. Kelly West (Anotherred81) sent me an email saying weather permittin he will be there . He just bought a sweeet C5 and probably will be driving it.

I told him C5 s were welcome , we might be in the Volvo S80 ourselves LOL

I now have an IDEA!

I just got this email from Nancy ....

This is stuff that has accumulated since Funfest, returns, scratch and dent and what have you.. The important thing here is ... This stuff has not been picked through by anyone and we have first shot at it. We need people and to show interest to get them to unpack it, otherwise it stays packed up until Spring Swapfest in May.

Here is the email I received.

Good Morning-

Kenny Yager and I talked this morning and he has a bunch of scratch and dent items that he is considering to get out for the group of corvette owners on March 15^th. Do you think that more members would attend if we do this? Kenny doesn�t want to go through the work unless we have at least 25 corvette owners here.

We�re thinking of opening the pre-swapfest area from 8am to 11am to your clubs only and then having lunch and the corporate tour. We will finish the day with a tour of Performance Choice.

What do you think?

So, are there really only 3 C3VR members (local or otherwise) that are able to make this? This sounds like a neat rare treat, behind the scenes, free lunch, etc. I'd love to come if I was local and single :)

I just posted on CAC to see if any of the locals on there could help get the numbers up, but other than that , I don't think so. Still even with the post on CAC , we probably will only get locals.

To begin with I contacted Nancy and ask her if we got enough people to the event Saturday, what could they do for us. It's taken a life of its own since then LOL

Anyone that wants in on the tour of the facilities at MAM and lunch , I just need to know how many are coming so they can staff and have plenty of food.

If you would just like to get in on the deals, show up at MAM between 8 and 11 am and shop till you drop.

They are also having their Spring Into Gear Saturday Event

There's also the free admission to the museum, it is ever changing. If you visited the museum during Funfest and saw it, its changed again.

It would be awesome if you could come ! The weather here is not good either, but the long range forecast looks good.

As far as the MAM itinerary, this is what Nancy suggests...

I need to be at MAM at 8 am on Saturday, that means I need to leave home about 6:30 am at the latest.

If you are coming here the day before you can do one of two things. As you know, there are several hotels in Effingham LOL

If you wanted to come to Highland, I am about 1 hour west on 70 from MAM. If you want to stay at the Holiday Inn here ( 618 ) 651 1100. I would book a room now, they sell out pretty fast. Theres also Michaels Swiss Inn (618) 654 8646

The ones that come here , we probably will have dinner at the Farmers restaurant and whatever else. I know there's a couple of people on here that like to shop LOL

I hope you can make it, I am sure there will be some deals to be had at MAM as well as an all around good time. Out of all the time I have spent at MAM, I have never been on the plant tour, I know Suzy is excited about that.

I am getting good response as time gets closer.

Several calls and several emails! This was posted on CAC , CF, Digital Corvettes, and STLC3Sharks website, as well as announced in the local club meetings, not to mention the people I called that just drive Vettes and are not affiliated with a club or forum

Accuweather says 56 and sunny so far. I hope they get it half right and it is at least sunny LOL

I am going to try and make this but am not sure right now.... I have had some unexpected changes that warrant I alter my lifestyle temporarily......

P.S. Oh Scott my ground effects package should arrive tonight according to Fed Ex If the snow quits.

This is the week!

I hope to see you guys Friday evening or Saturday morning.

I am still getting emails and calls. I have about 30 people that say they will be there so far.

Anyone that might be coming to the Highland area or that needs my cell #, just pm me .

Michaels Swiss Inn has rooms available for $65 and $75 in Highland.

It has a Starbucks for the Starbucks fans. Suzy says it has a restaurant in it but I have never been in the restaurant.

Its going to get wet but I have several that still want to go to get in on the deals..

There is a caravan forming at the Highland rest stop on 70 east, leaving at 7 am Saturday.

I will be there rain or shine. I need a few more things for the Vettes.
