Wayne and PJ Ray Join One Acre Club

Founding Members Wayne and Pat Ray (PJ), first got the Corvette bug back in 1983 when a Marina Blue 67 convertible caught Wayne’s eye in a car lot. “It was like it reached out and grabbed me,” Wayne says. Since then, they’ve been great supporters of all things Corvette, joining the Classic Glass Corvette Club, the National Corvette Museum, NCRS, NCCC, NCOA, ISCA, and CCA; restoring old Vettes and buying new Vettes along the way. As Corvette Addicts (by their own admission) they couldn’t resist joining the One Acre Club as well.

“We’ve volunteered for years at the Petit Le Mans.” Wayne says. “We love racing and while we don’t race, we like going fast,” he laughs. “The Motorsports Park is going to be perfect for that and when we get the park running, that will be good for the Museum too. By buying an acre I feel like I ‘own’ a race track now!”

“The car brings all of the wonderful people together,” PJ adds. “And just like in the movie ‘Field of Dreams’ one thing is for sure about the Motorsports Park … if we build it, they will come.”

Today, we just finished closing on a 20 acre parcel that is part of the 184 acres for the initial development of the Motorsports Park. Thanks to everyone who has joined our One Acre Club thus far!

NCM Accepting Club Submissions

We are now accepting submissions for our next two Corvette Clubs to be featured in the Corvette Enthusiasts Exhibit Area. You may submit your club for the drawing and the chosen clubs will be featured beginning Labor Day weekend 2012 for one year.

The chosen clubs will have the opportunity to be featured on a graphic board measuring 53” tall by 37” wide. This graphic will include printed information about the club, their location, history, membership, pictures, activities, contact information, etc. All information must be approved by the NCM.

In addition to the graphic board, the featured clubs will have a display case measuring 55” tall by 21” wide by 13” deep.  Each case will have the capacity for three adjustable shelves.  Club memorabilia will be approved by NCM.

To be included in the drawing, please submit your club name to Stephanie Morrill no later than Monday, April 30.

KidZone Coming This Fall

After much planning and anticipation, the Corvette KidZone will finally be a reality!

We received approval from the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Warren County Fiscal Court and Bowling Green City Commission to receive $40,000 from the Special Tourism Projects Fund (transient room tax money) to fund a portion of the new space. This means every one of you who has visited Bowling Green lately and stayed in a hotel contributed to this project!

Additionally, our friend and Corvette enthusiast, Eugene Nagowski, donated funds to purchase a "Super Service Center" which will be named for his late wife, Pat.

Please continue to watch eNews as we provide more updates and information on the plans for this project and ways which you can get involved!
