Starting from various cities throughout America, thousands of Corvette enthusiasts will converge on the home of Corvette for three days of exciting Corvette lifestyle including the grand opening of the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. Details for the 20th Anniversary Corvette Celebration are still in the planning stage, but over 2,000 have already registered for the event. The Caravan is being coordinated by Paul Mariano, National Chair of the 2014 NCM Caravan, in collaboration with Karen Renfrow, NCM Events Manager. Information and details on caravan routes can be obtained by visiting the 2014 Caravan website here. Caravan registration is $5 per person. Anniversary Celebration registration is free for Museum Lifetime Members, $15 per person for members and $25 per person for non-members. Michael and Sandra Brown Join One Acre Club When asked about his “Corvette Story”, Michael Brown explains, “I was a high school junior in Hugo, Oklahoma when the tenth anniversary split window coupe was introduced.  I was unrelentingly smitten and vowed to own one someday. Over 22 years passed before I could finally fulfill that dream, but it was well worth the wait.”   Michael and Sandra Brown, residents of Arlington, Texas, are Lifetime Members of the Museum and avid Corvette collectors. Michael’s current car collection includes 13 Corvettes, which can be viewed on his garage website at www.hookedonvettes.com. Michael is known in the Corvette world for his documentary The Quest, which follows the search, restoration, and return of the 1960 class winning Corvette to Le Mans. The film is available for purchase in our Corvette Store. Sandra is an accomplished author of 62 New York Times bestsellers. She began her writing career in 1981 and since then has published over 70 novels, bringing the number of copies of her books in print worldwide to upwards of 80 million. Their inspiration for joining the One Acre Club is simple. “Anything that aspires to provide a forum and a venue for continued education about the Corvette gets my vote. Hot Bike Power Tour Making Pit Stop at NCM The Inaugural Hot Bike Power Tour is making Bowling Green its 3rd stop on a five-city tour this Monday, August 26. Activities are planned at the Museum beginning at 1pm including live music and the Museum, Store and Cafe will be open until 8pm. The activities are open to the public. Over 500 bikes are expected at what is being billed as the World's Largest Traveling Bike Tour. Visit their website at www.hotbikeweb.com. Front pouch pocket. 60% cotton, 40% polyester. $40.00 Eagles Canyon Track Event Saturday, November 9 Lone Star Corvette Club will be joined by NCM High Performance Drivers Education instructor Roc Linkov and GM Engineer and HPDE instructor Laura Klauser for a fall event at Eagles Canyon Raceway, located one hour north of Fort Worth, Texas. The event offers classroom instruction between four 20 minute sessions on the track. Drivers will be divided into run groups based on previous track experience. Laura will also be offering a "Ladies Only" Powder Puff track class. LG Motorsports is providing lunch and track support, and free consultations from their mechanics. The cost for the event is $170 per driver (Corvettes are not required) with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the NCM Motorsports Park. Register online here.
