Vets 'n Vettes Registration Open

Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Vets 'n Vettes event, set for November 8-10.

Thursday is dedicated to our American Warrior Recognition program. Military personnel and their guests will be brought to the NCM by Fort Campbell and Fort Knox. The groups will tour and have lunch at the Museum, and take a road tour in a Corvette. The road tours will be escorted by the Kentucky State Police. If you would like to drive one of our military guests, please make your selection on the registration page. Lunch is included for all volunteer drivers and their personal guests.

Friday features an extended back road tour to Glendale with lunch at Whistle Stop Cafe, a poker run, group picture and Military & Corvette Trivia. Special parking is available for Corvettes with Patriotic paint jobs!

Saturday is the event everyone loves – the annual Bowling Green Veterans Day Parade where all attending Corvettes can participate!  After the parade participants will caravan to Mammoth Cave National Park for a buffet lunch and a stop at GTO Heaven. The event wraps up with a banquet in the NCM Conference Center. General registration for Vets ‘n Vettes is only $10.

Florida Corvette Club Joins One Acre Club

When Dave Putz, NCM Master Ambassador for the Florida Corvette Club, first started talking about the Motorsports Park project to his club - he had his work cut out for him.

"I have been talking about the Motorsports Park at every meeting. The $15,000 seemed to put people off." Dave continued to bring the topic up when another club member, also a Museum Lifetime Member, spoke up and said the club was missing an opportunity to be a founding member of the Motorsports Park. "He said he and his wife would pledge $600 toward the Park. At that point, I said I would check into how we could run a fundraiser in our club," Dave said.

With the help of Connie Russell at NCM, the Florida Corvette Club setup a pledge program. "We currently have $5,000 either pledged or paid. Most of the cash came from our Museum Lifetime Members, but some have come from family members, or Florida Corvette Club members who are not members of the Museum," Dave said.

He added, "we have a lot of drivers who like to go fast and love winding roads. I believe that the Motorsports Park will entice our members who like to drive their Vettes fast and skilled, to contribute. At this time I am looking for 34 couples or singles to pledge $300... at $30 a month for 10 months. This would be the cost of one dinner out a month.

Insurance for Your Modified Collector Car

Many insurance companies refuse to write modified cars or cover you for the modifications you have done to your car - but not the NCM Insurance Agency!

We consider cars to be modified when the performance has been increased 25% or more, the body, chassis or frame have been altered, custom paint jobs over $10,000 in value, more than $5,000 in other modifications or a stereo over $3,000. Our insurance agent, Adam Boca, can write your modified car under an Agreed Value policy - making sure your car is completely covered but at an affordable price.

Lear more about our modified collector car insurance online here.

Camaro5 Makes Pit Stop at NCM

Proving that the National Corvette Museum is a great place for clubs and groups to get together, Brian Sparks of the Camaro5.com forum stopped by with a large number of fifth generation Camaros. They parked their cars in the shape of the number "5" while the participants toured the Museum, ate at the Corvette Cafe, and shopped in the Corvette Store. "Camaro is another American icon so we had to stop here," he smiled. "We're on our way to Indianapolis for the third annual Camaro5 Fest to be held out at Lucas Oil Raceway. We're going to have two days of drag racing with elimination races, exhibitions and grudge matches. We'll also have an autocross, a car show, and vendors with new products for Camaros and an overall great time hanging out with other people who love this great car."

If your other cool car is a fifth generation Camaro, go to www.camaro5.com for more details on how you can join the fun next time.

If you don’t own a fifth gen Camaro, click here for a chance to win a rare 2012 Camaro ZL1.
