Motorsports Park Project Moving Along

Exciting progress is being made this month with the NCM Motorsports Park as the geotechnical engineering work is underway, land is being cleared and surveyed, possible sound abatement accommodations are being explored and small modifications are being made to the track layout.

Several driving schools have expressed interest in having some level of involvement with the National Corvette Museum and the NCM Motorsports Park, including having a satellite school to completely managing the park. We will be discussing these options in the near future.

Want more of the latest news on the Park? Make sure you are subscribed to the "Motorsports Park" email list! Click the "Profile Center" link at the top of this email to manage your preferences. We will be sending an update next Tuesday!

Carolinas and Virginia Corvette Caravan Join One Acre Club

Corvette enthusiasts from the Carolinas & Virginia Corvette Caravan have committed to joining our “One Acre Club” as a part of their ongoing support for the National Corvette Museum.  As one of the 29 caravan groups participating in the 2014 NCM Caravan, members of this leg hail from various parts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Their journey in the 2014 National event will begin in Concord, NC and end in Bowling Green, KY for fun Corvette festivities at the Museum.

Many of the Carolinas & Virginia Corvette Caravan participants are Lifetime Members of the Museum, and have participated in past Caravans and other Museum events. “We are very excited to be able to involve all of our members and participate in this project,” said Caravan Captain Frank Sancineto. “We hope that our contribution will set a trend for other Caravan groups to do the same!”

The National Corvette Museum Caravans have become an integral part of today’s Corvette culture. This nationwide caravan was organized in 1994 to celebrate the opening of the National Corvette Museum and has been held approximately every five years since. The 5th National Caravan in 2014 will celebrate the Museum’s 20th Anniversary and promises to be the largest caravan yet.

Double Your Dollar to NCM

Did you know that some companies will make matching gifts to charitable organizations? Your employer may be one of them and may match your gift to the National Corvette Museum. Participating employers will match cash, and many will match donations made for bricks and membership dues. AND your employer’s match gift counts toward Winner’s Circle recognition for you!

Ask your employer if they support matching gifts and be sure to turn in a matching gift form the next time you make a charitable donation to the National Corvette Museum.

Companies who have matched donations made to us include: Verizon, Halliburton, Safeco, Kraft Foods, Kimberly-Clark, Dell, JP Morgan Chase, American Express, ITW, IBM, Citgo, Exxon, Merrill Lynch, Thrivent Gift, AT & T, Motorola, Pfizer, Boeing & Arcelormittal.

If your company matches gifts and is not listed above, we would love to let other Museum supporters know about their generosity. Please submit your company’s name to Connie Russell in our Development Department and we’ll help spread the word!
