Corvette Stingray Convertible to Debut at Geneva

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible will make its world debut on March 5 at the Geneva Motor Show.

"It's fitting to introduce the new Stingray convertible on the global stage at Geneva because Corvette is the face of Chevrolet the world over," said Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe. "It is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."

Attendees at the Museum's Bash April 25-27 will have the opportunity to see both the coupe and convertible 2014 Stingray up close, and hear from members of the Chevrolet team responsible for the new design. Registration is now open and the complete event agenda is available online here.

MiM Mid-Ohio Grand Am Tour

The Museum has added a "Museum in Motion" trip to the calendar, set for June 10-15 covering parts of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.

The MiM Mid-Ohio Grand Am Tour will combine the fun of touring with the excitement of racing. Participants embark on a road tour through Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, ending with two days at the Grand Am and Continental races at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Planned activities include private tours of various team garages, a sunset dinner boat ride, back road trips, visiting an engine and transmission plant, sightseeing, touring the US Air Force’s Museum and a night out at a casino.

The inclusive tour member price is $1,899 per car (two people) with six nights' lodging, the dinner cruise, lunch on Monday, corral tickets and a pizza party Saturday night. Non-member price is $1,979 per car (two people) and includes a family membership.

Claire Leighton Joins One Acre Club

Claire Leighton, a Texas resident and Corvette enthusiast, began her journey with the National Corvette Museum when her father won his 2009 Competition Sport Z06 Corvette through our popular Corvette raffles. They had just purchased a 2004 Le Mans Coupe as the company car for their family business, Recondite Services, and on a whim decided to buy raffle tickets along with their Corvette Store t-shirt purchase.

“I tagged along for the museum delivery of my father’s new Corvette.  It meant so much to see and speak with the talented people that build and preserve not only the American sports car but a true icon in the automotive industry,” said Leighton. “After that visit we decided to sign ourselves up for a racing event at the GrandSport Speedway in Houston, and we’ve been hooked on the experience ever since! I would recommend a course of this kind to anyone; an experience like this creates a confident driver and has saved my life on multiple occasions. It is because of these memories that I decided to join the NCM One Acre Club to support the Motorsports Park project.”

Claire and her father can’t wait to visit the track, and hope to participate in the many upcoming events which will follow the completion of the NCM Motorsports Park. Learn more about the Motorsports Park project and One Acre Club online here.

Exclusive VERY LIMITED C7 Stingray Reveal Shirt

If you were one of the 150 people who were lucky enough to be part of the National Corvette Museum group at the C7 Corvette Reveal in Detroit on 1-13-13, you would have also been given a special black, long-sleeved shirt to commemorate that historic occasion. This shirt was created exclusively for the National Corvette Museum by Corvette Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion. Unlike the shirts GM execs wore that night with the C7 Logo on the pocket over the word “Corvette”, these shirts said “Stingray”underneath the Corvette flags, and “National Corvette Museum, 1-13-13 Reveal”below that. To make it even more special, on the back right under the collar, you’ll see the Stingray emblem.

These rare pieces of C7 Corvette history are getting snatched up by collectors everywhere. Don’t miss your chance to own a part of it!

Auction Ends February 14.
