Sherwood, Wis. residents and lifetime members of the National Corvette Museum, Ivan & Mary Schrodt are extremely involved in the world of Corvettes and within the Museum itself. Ivan is a retiring member of the Museum’s Board, and both are active participants with Valley Vettes and Kettle Moraine Corvette Club as well as aiding in selling store merchandise at the upper Midwest Corvette shows. Ivan and Mary have been an integral part of the planning for the NCM Motorsports Park, and were quick to become a part of the “One Acre Club”.
When asked about his thoughts on the project, Ivan states, “I am very excited about the track, having had the opportunity to participate as a board member from conception, through land acquisition, permitting and moving to realization. The NCM Motorsports Park involves so many aspects of the Corvette: driver education, engineering education, experiencing Corvette Racing test days, HPDE days, and serving Corvette Clubs. My excitement has grown through the process, taking another big leap after seeing the latest track layout. You will probably never have the opportunity to take the real Mulsanne corner or Porsche curves at speed, but by helping get this track built, you will be able to do just that right beside the home of your Corvette. What an incredible place this is going to be!”
Ivan and Mary are not only strong supporters of the Museum, they are also avid Corvette and Corvette Racing enthusiasts. They currently own seven Corvettes including a 1966 327-350, a 2002 Z06, a 2007 Z06 and a 2012 25th Anniversary Callaway.
