When the Queen City Corvette Club of Charlotte, NC decided to become a member of the “One Acre Club” for the Motorsports Park, the initial fund drive didn’t produce the desired results. "We had sign-up sheets at the sign-in desk of our monthly meetings but only the most dedicated supporters committed to the drive," said club Ambassador, Paul Mariano.

The commitments stalled out at approximately $5,000. Considering the possibility that some members were reluctant to publicly display the amount they would like to donate, the board decided to pass out pledge cards to the members when they signed in to keep their donation amounts private.

"Amazingly, we surpassed our goal of $15,000.00 at the first meeting. Of course, we still have to collect all the pledges, but we anticipate the required amount will be exceeded by a safe margin," Paul added.

To help other clubs and groups keep the momentum going with fundraising efforts, Paul had the idea for NCM to create and distribute a "thermometer" to track fundraising efforts - and to make the thermometer actually be the Motorsports Park's road course, sectioned off in increments. How would you like to feature your Corvette Club on a banner in the Museum's parking lot? Submissions for our banner program end TUESDAY and only 13 spots remain.

Banners are $350 on a first come, first serve basis. The banners include a club's logo and up to four lines of text or a club may submit finished artwork of their choice. The banners will be printed and hung in August, remaining up for one year, after which time the club gets to keep the banner.

This year clubs can reserve their banner spot online upon mailing $350 to the Museum or calling in with a credit card. More information and the online reservation form can be found here.

If you've been wanting to participate in a Buyers Tour, purchase a Photo Album of your car being built or participate in a VIP Tour we have some important deadlines for you.

Any cars ordered after Sunday, July 29th will not be able to participate in our Buyers Tours program or have a Photo Album made due to the plant being closed to the public by the time those cars will be built. If you have already ordered a Corvette and want to sign up for a Buyer's Tour or Photo Album, you will need to do so by July 29th due to the volume in the system at this time. The programs will open back up after the launch of the C7.

The VIP Tours are still open at this time but will cease on September 13. We will work in as many tours as possible before that date so please call or email soon if you were interested in a VIP Tour. This program will also resume in 2013.
