Paul and Diana Haack grew up in separate towns in Northern Illinois, but they each had childhood dreams of someday owning a Corvette. In 1992, they were fortunate enough to fulfill their dreams when they purchased a Black 1988 coupe, and have been loyal Corvette owners ever since. The 1988 was later replaced with a new 2000 Millennium Yellow Coupe, and they currently own it and a 2008 Black Z06. After attending the 1-13-13 Detroit C7 Reveal with the NCM, they were so impressed with the C7 that they plan to purchase one in 2014 to go with their C5 and C6.
Initially starting off by attending local cruise nights and car shows and taking road trips with friends, they later joined a Corvette Club and became active in the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC). In the last several years they enjoy regular participation in NCCC Autocross and other HPDE events such as the NCM event at the Autobahn Country Club. Both Paul and Diana have earned two NCCC Regional Championships, and both have also placed in the Top 15 of all NCCC Competitors in the nation three times.
Strong believers in volunteerism, Paul and Diana also serve in leadership positions in NCCC. Paul is 1st Vice President of Competition, overseeing all aspects of NCCC’s National Competition Program. Diana is the Regional Membership Director for the Midwest Region of NCCC, which has over 2200 active members in 3 states. Both are members of the Windy City Corvette Club and the NCM.
Paul and Diana agree, “As passionate Corvette enthusiasts, we believe the chance to join the NCM Motorsports Park One Acre Club is a unique once-in-a-lifetime historical opportunity. We are pleased to support this world-class facility that will provide so much enjoyment for current and future generations of Corvette owners, including us!”
Years ago, Art Bell, Jr.’s wife said he was at the age where he needed a sports car or a mistress, so she bought him a Corvette. This standard coupe sparked his love for Corvette and he has bought a new one every year since. In 2005, Art went to NCM driving school in South Carolina where he met Roc Linkov, Motorsports Park Project Manager and Events Manager at NCM. Art was so inspired by Roc’s perseverance and contributions to high performance driving programs and wanted to support him in any way possible. When he heard about the Motorsports Park, he knew fundraising would be an uphill battle and decided to get involved. “Supporting track events was the right thing to do. The Museum is also spectacular, but I’m so excited for the road track at the MSP!”
