Celebrate the 60th

If you've not yet had the chance to see the all new 2014 "C7" Corvette, now's your chance! Join us June 27-28 for a FREE EVENT - the 60th Anniversary of Corvette Celebration. What's even more exciting, this is the first time GM will let guests sit in the latest generation.

Other exciting activities include a special reveal event by Harlan Charles and John Fitzpatrick of Chevrolet, Corvette Racing seminar, "C7" Walk-Arounds, Historic Evolution of Corvette display and seminar, an unveiling and giveaway of the new Stingray "C7" PowerWheels and the groundbreaking ceremony for the Motorsports Park.

The event is free - you just need to either be a Museum Member or pay regular Museum admission to participate in the seminars and walk-arounds and see the "C7"s. Learn more online here.

We are also still searching for Corvettes for our evolution display. If you have one in the following years please contact Karen Renfrow:

NCM Nominated as an 8th Wonder of the World

The National Corvette Museum has been listed by VirtualTourist.com as a nominee for the 8th Wonder of the World. The site, a leading travel research website and community that is part of TripAdvisor, invited Tourism Boards to submit a nomination - whether an ancient, natural or manmade landmark for the area they represent, to be voted on by the general public.

Voting runs through September 30 and you can vote once per day online here.

One Acre Club Features

General Motors Bowling Green Assembly is proud to be the only “Home of the Corvette”.  With a strong commitment to quality and excellence, the Bowling Green team has continued the Corvette tradition since 1981.  “We offer so many exclusive opportunities.  You can take a plant tour, see us build the car, order a photo album of the production, and many other experiences that few other companies can offer,” says Dave Tatman, plant manager and NCM board member.

The plant has had a terrific relationship with the National Corvette Museum since it was founded and both organizations are great partners not only in the Corvette community, but also the Bowling Green community.  The plant employees believe so strongly in the museum’s mission and have always been supportive of any way to further the museum’s efforts.  When the Motorsports Park was announced, there was no question that they wanted to continue their support by joining the One Acre Club.

Steve and Kathy Cronberg bought their first Corvette, a 1987 coupe, in 2001 while living in Hawaii and joined the Corvette Club of Hawaii.  Then, they bought a 50th Anniversary convertible in Minnesota, which Steve and his daughter drove to the West Coast to ship to Hawaii.  The 2003 had 2 ocean crossings, over to Hawaii, then back again when their family moved to East Tennessee in 2004.  They joined East Tennessee Corvette Club in the fall of that year. “We have been very active members of ETCC since joining, and participate in all club activities,” says Steve.

The Cronberg’s bought a project 1969 coupe in 2009, which Steve restored over a period of 2 years.  In the fall of 2012, they traded the 1969 and the 2003 50th anniversary for a 60th anniversary Grand Sport convertible.

They bought a 2003 Z06 in the summer of 2012 to autocross. Steve went to Bondurant in 2010 for the Z06 experience, and learned the value of attending a driving school.  Steve and Kathy began autocrossing in 2012 in the NCCC SE Region.  Kathy and Steve were both Top Competitors in the SE Region in 2012, and Steve was 20th in the nation.  He also won the 2012 SE Region Men’s Rookie of the Year award.

After many trips to the Museum, Steve became ETCC’s Museum Ambassador in 2012.  He started talking to members about the 1 acre program for their club.  Kathy and Steve could see all the benefits that the Motorsports Park will bring to Corvette owners, clubs, and the Museum and decided to become 1 Acre Members themselves.
Steve currently flies for Delta Airlines as a 747 Captain, and Kathy is retired from Medtronic Inc.
