NCCC Joins the Motorsports Park One Acre Club
The NCCC was founded as an all volunteer, non-profit organization in 1959 by a small group of Corvette owners and enthusiasts. The purpose of forming the NCCC was, and still is, to promote interest in Corvette ownership and operation, to publish information on the use and operation of the Corvette and to encourage others to participate in the enjoyment connected with the use and ownership of the Corvette. Today, the NCCC contains approximately 275 Clubs in 16 Regions across the United States, with membership at more than 17,500 individuals.
The National Council of Corvette Clubs has been a supporter of the National Corvette Museum since its inception, with their very own NCM Hall of Fame members, Joe Pike and Patrick Dolan, having been involved in the original planning and ground breaking event of the museum in 1994. Over the years, several NCCC Presidents have sat on the NCM’s Board of Directors, and many members have served as NCM Ambassadors around the country.
“Since several of our members, clubs, and regions around the US have already joined and are supporting the Motorsports Park, it was only fitting that we step up and support it at the national level,” said Douglas McMahan, NCCC National Director of Public Relations. “Adding the Motorsports Park will add a new dimension and opportunity to the museum for all motorsports enthusiasts. We also feel that as a National Corvette organization, NCCC should continue to support the National Corvette Museum along with its efforts around promoting the Corvette, its heritage and development.”

Corvette Racing by David Kimble.
Chevy’s Corvette is without question one of the most recognized sports cars in the world. Since its introduction at GM’s Motorama, Corvettes have been favorites for fans and drivers in a wide variety of racing venues, including endurance events, hillclimbs, Trans-Am, drag racing, and GT Racing. For six decades, Corvettes have battled and defeated some of the the biggest names in the sports car world—Ferrari, Porsche, Cobra, Jaguar—at storied road courses like Le Mans, Daytona, the Nürburgring, Sebring, and Laguna Seca.
Beginning with the Real McCoy, a Zora Arkus-Duntov special raced at Sebring in 1956, this book draws on the history of factory-sponsored and private racing efforts, chronicling the history of the various Vettes that have been put to the test as racing machines. Noted automotive writer and renowned artist David Kimble delves deep into Vette’s on-track history to provide the most thorough Corvette racing history ever published. Corvette Racing is illustrated with rare images from GM’s media and design archives and complemented by Kimble’s own stunning cutaway artwork. For Corvette and racing fans, this book is the definitive word on Corvette’s nearly 60 years of competition.
Hardcover, 256 pages. 155 color & 95 black/white photos. $60.00

Andy Pilgrim Autographed 2001 C5 R Corvette Die Cast Model
The year 2001 is an important year in the history of Corvette Racing. This is the year that the Corvette Racing team would become the dominant force in GTS racing winning 8 out of 10 races, including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The car that this model honors is the #3 car driven at the Daytona 24 Hour race by the team of Andy Pilgrim and NASCAR superstars Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Dale enjoyed the experience so much that he planned on joining the team for the race in Le Mans but sadly, we lost Dale in an accident at the same track he'd raced this Corvette at just two weeks earlier.
Co-driver Andy Pilgrim became good friends of Dale as they trained, practiced and spent time together. He has signed this 1:43 scale C5-R Corvette, making this limited edition model even more collectible and a treasure for any true Corvette Racing/ NASCAR /Earnhardt fan.
Auction ends April 4 online here. |
