C7 the Star of the Show at the Bash
We are still trying to catch our breath from all of the fun we had at the Bash event last week . Corvette enthusiasts packed the Museum to get their first look at the 7th Generation Corvette in person. Designer Kirk Bennion, Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, and Corvette Product and Marketing Manager Harlan Charles, teamed up with other GM staff to formally introduce the “C7” to everyone in attendance.  With a coupe and convertible on hand, as well as a frame and various parts on display, they gave seminars covering everything anyone would want to know about these cars.  “I thought it looked great in the pictures,” said life-long Corvette fan Dave Hale, “but it looks even better in person.  I’m really impressed with the overall design of the “C7”. I love it and can’t wait to get one. I’m excited.”
The really good news is that you can order yours now! Click
here and then enter your zip to find a dealer with allocations for the initial production period. Then you’ll be on your way to owning your own “C7” Corvette!

Motorsports Park Interest Picking up Speed

Corvette Racing Program Manager Doug Fehan, along with #3 Crew Chief Danny Binks, and championship winning driver of the #4 Corvette, Tommy Milner, were at the Bash sharing their excitement for what is happening with the Motorsports Park. “This is something Corvette owners have been dreaming about for years,” said Doug. “Now we are on the cusp of actually making this happen. This completes the circle of wanting a Corvette someday, to buying one, to watching it be built, to learning how to drive it the way it was designed to be driven. When I’m here for the ground breaking, (during the 60th Anniversary Celebration at the NCM on June 27-28th) I’ll be working that shovel harder than anyone.”
The $1 million dollar challenge needed to get the West Track included in the initial construction phase got closer to happening too as over $185,000 in donations and commitments took us to the $693,000 mark. We only have one month to go to raise the remaining $307,000 and hope that you’ll join the effort to make it happen. For more information go to
www.motorsportspark.org.

Raffle Winner with a Great Story

Congrats to Linda Vicknair of La Place, Louisiana! Her winning ticket was drawn in our April 27th, 2013 raffle for a 2013 60th Anniversary Convertible Corvette! She wasted no time in picking it up either, showing up yesterday to take delivery. “We lost our other Corvette last year when Hurricane Isaac came through,” she said. “The water just came up so fast that there was nothing we could do to save it. It was our first Corvette and the one my husband Charles bought for himself when he retired. We had just started looking around for another one when I received the call telling us we’d won the raffle. We were both in a state of shock. I couldn’t make myself believe that I’d won it until I was actually sitting in it. I never win anything big but this time I did and it’s mine!” The Vicknair’s  usually buy a raffle ticket a year, but she plans on entering them all from here on out.  Another thing she is planning to do is get a Stinger Lift just in case another hurricane comes her way. “We’re going to protect this one,” she laughs.

We Insure That!

In December of 1966 Astronaut Neil Armstrong was given a 1967 427/390hp Corvette Coupe as part of an appreciation program initiated by Jim Rathman Chevrolet. The man who would later be the first person to set foot on the moon, had the car for a year before it went to another NASA employee where it remained off of the radar until 2012 when it was purchased by its current owner. The NCM Insurance Agency is very proud to have the honor of protecting this unique piece of history.  We want to protect your piece of history too!  Check us out at www.ncminsurance.com or give us a call at 877.678.7626.  Passion and history are our specialty.
