Got a Great Corvette Story?

For the next issue of America’s Sports Car magazine we’ll be going for a cruise down memory lane looking for adventure, romance, purpose, meaning and fun! Last year’s “Corvette Enthusiast” issue was such a great success that we’d like to do it again and ask you to submit your stories for possible publication. Email us your stories (500 words or less) along with a photograph that would go along with it (although photographs are not required). The photographs need to be as high resolution as you can provide. Don’t worry about spelling, grammar or how well it is written as we will be editing it down anyway to get it to fit the space we have available.

All stories become our property and we will not notify you one way or the other if your story is going to be published. You’ll find out when the magazine comes to your mailbox. Don’t feel badly if you story is is not selected as we will be holding on to all unpublished stories for possible use in future issues.

Email all submissions to: editor@corvettemuseum.org. The deadline is December 15th, 2012. If you don’t make it by then, send it anyway though. We’d love to read your Corvette story.

Corvettes Limited of Bowling Green Joins One Acre Club

Corvettes Limited of Bowling Green has committed to purchasing an acre for the NCM Motorsports Park project. The club itself has committed to contributing $1,000 each year to the acre, but club members have also stepped up and pledged $11,000 to date.

2012 Club President Dan Garrett presented Wendell Strode with their first check. "Clubs that aren't here in Bowling Green to use the park have joined the One Acre Club." said Dan, "And here we are in Bowling Green. I think the Corvette Plant's club should buy an acre, too. Nashville, Louisville ... all the clubs around us should be buying one."

Dan added that there are a lot of the club's members who have always been big supporters of the Museum in many ways, and this is just another way they can help out.

Dan sounds like he's challenging other clubs within an hour or two of Bowling Green to step up. What do you think? Learn more about this project online at www.motorsportspark.org.

2012 hasn't even come to a close yet, but we have several 2013 events live and open for registration!

NCM Bash
The annual 'Bash' officially kicks off event season at the Museum. Slated for April 25-27, this year's event offers the chance to see a new C7 up close and get all the latest information from the folks at GM on the features of the car. Seminars will cover suspension, powertrain, interior and design and electronics. Other activities include roads tours, the Corvette racing team, garage party with the women of the GM Corvette Team, Ladies' Oasis, a new golf scramble with Kirk Bennion and Gerry Panetta and a shopping excursion to Opry Mills. Check out the complete agenda and register online
here.

MiM Dragon Run
Continue the fun after Bash with a quick jaunt on the Tail of the Dragon to the Biltmore Estate for a specialty tour. This Museum in Motion trip is April 28-30 and space is limited. Learn more and sign up
here.

Sebring HPDE
The newest addition to our list of High Performance Driving Schools will take place in Sebring, Florida. Just weeks after the start of the ALMS season, our group will take to the very same track for two days of driving and activities. VIPs will be on hand for 'celebrity drives' and interesting classroom discussions, and the event will also offer a car show and autocross. The event is March 29-30, and registration will open this Wednesday, December 5 online
here.

Country Music Car Exhibitor Shows "Gratitude"

Nick Hoffman spent 12 years playing along side Country Music Superstar Kenny Chesney on fiddle and guitar as part of his band, and the 2010 Cyber Gray Grand Sport Corvette on display as part of our Country Music Stars and Cars exhibit was a
'thank you' gift from Kenny to Nick after touring with him for 10 years.

"When I came to Nashville in a U-Haul van, I drove past the Corvette Museum on 65 South on my way to Nashville, " Hoffman says. "I said to myself, 'I will not go to that museum until I drive there in my brand-new Corvette!'" And he didn't, until his friend and mentor Kenny Chesney rewarded his years of hard work with the car of his dreams.

Now, as part of THE FARM, Hoffman is a proud ambassador for Corvette and Chevrolet. He also owns a 1966 Tuxedo Black C2 Corvette 327ci/350hp that is currently in restoration. Hoffmann recently went around performing random acts of 'gratefulness' in celebration of his band's new song, "Be Grateful." Check the video out
here, and check out his Corvette, along with many others in our Country Music Stars and Cars exhibit now through January 18.
