NCM members, you can reserve your spot now in our new Corvette Café with a 4 inch x 2.54 inch table display space! We have 279 table top photo display positions available to feature your Corvette image, year, make and color, name and city/state.

This opportunity is available on a first come-first serve basis. You must provide a quality digital image in jpg or tiff format to be eligible - no spaces will be reserved without image and information. Please send image of your Corvette only – no models please. Table positions will be assigned as received. You have until November 24 at 5:00 p.m. CT to reserve your spot by uploading your image and information online and making your payment via our website.

NCM Receives First Place Awards at the 2008 Kentucky Tourism Conference

We were honored to have received two first place awards for our marketing efforts at the 2008 Kentucky Tourism Fall Conference held this week.

Our “America’s Sports Car” Magazine and “NCM eNews” e-newsletter each took a first place position as part of the Traverse Awards Gala held each year to recognize marketing professionals throughout the state for creativity and professionalism. The conference was held in Bowling Green this year and offered over 300 tourism industry representatives a chance to tour the city and see the many facets of our city’s uniqueness.

Progress on our 47,000 sq. ft. expansion is moving along and taking shape each day. On any given day, travelers glancing from I-65 can see the renovations and new areas coming together, and you can watch it for yourself via our “construction cams” that give an indoor and outdoor view of the work taking place.

“Everyone is really getting excited and are anxiously awaiting it’s completion,” Bob Hellmann, NCM Facilities Manager shares. “If construction remains on schedule, we are planning for the operations of the Corvette Store, the Library and Archives and the PDI program to be working out of the new addition by the first part of February 2009.”

Our expansion will include a Library and Archives, renovated Corvette Store, PDI/Delivery Prep area and offices, new admissions area, the Hall of Fame, Conference Center and Café, as well as providing additional exhibition space, restrooms and storage. We have sold 171 hexagon bricks to be placed in our Corvette Boulevard planned as part of the expansion! Thanks to everyone who has supported the program.

With the championship decided and anticipation for a new GT2 program building, the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, October 18, will mark the end of an era for Corvette Racing. The team will conclude its final full season in the GT1 division before beginning its transition to a new global GT class.

The season finale of the 11-race American Le Mans Series will be the final appearance by the championship-winning GT1 Corvettes at the scenic track on California's central coast - read more here.

The Monterey Sports Car Challenge season finale of the 2008 American Le Mans Series takes place at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, on Saturday, October 18. The four-hour race is scheduled to start at 2:45 p.m. PDT. NBC will televise the tape-delayed race from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT on Sunday, October 19.
