First 2014 Corvettes Arrive!
On Wednesday Chevrolet reported that they had begun shipping the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe to dealers.
Bowling Green Assembly has produced approximately 1,000 Stingrays for customers thus far. Most of these vehicles are expected to be delivered to dealers within the next few weeks. The National Corvette Museum today received our first shipment of R8C Delivery Corvettes with our first "C7" Delivery slated for September 30 when the plant will re-open to customers participating in R8C, Buyers Tours or Photo Albums through the Museum.
For those of you that have been waiting to catch a glimpse of a C7, we will have them on the floor for display starting tomorrow (Friday)!
Read the complete release by GM on the start of shipping on our Blog here.
Check out photos of the first shipment in our Google+ Album here.
We also have a short video showing the first shipment being unloaded, as well as Delivery Department Manager Lori Bieschke talking about the new car covers on You Tube. |
Two Wheel Speed Exhibit Opening
Corvettes may be the best thing on four wheels, but what about our two-wheel friends? Starting on Saturday, September 21, the National Corvette Museum presents a unique exhibit featuring over 40 amazing motorcycles of various makes, models and eras. The bikes on display range from the classic American Harley to foreign bikes such as Kawasakis and Yamahas.
One such bike on display has Corvette ties. The Motus MST series of comfortable sportbikes were developed with the help of partners, Pratt & Miller Engineering, who support GM's successful Factory Corvette Racing, Cadillac Racing, Daytona Prototype, Camaro GT, NASCAR, and IndyCar efforts. Drawing on this racing heritage, the MST's have chromoly space frames, extensive use of carbon fiber and real American muscle. Other bikes include a 1975 Harley Davidson Prototype MX 350, 1966 Bridgestone Special Racer 175cc, 1967 Triumph Bonneville T120R, 1928 Indian 101 and many more.

Classic Glass Corvette Club Joins One Acre Club
Based in Marietta, Ga. and organized in 1983, the Classic Glass Corvette Club is one of the largest in its region with over 230 members. Of those members, almost half are members of the National Corvette Museum, with two being founding members. The CGCC is also a proud Lifetime Business Member.
“Our members are very active in volunteering at the Museum,” says Doug Reed, NCM Ambassador and proud member of the CGCC. “We make at least one weekend trip a year to do whatever is needed to be done, from painting gates to folding t-shirts to hanging banner supports. We have also sent members to help during major events like Bash and Anniversary celebrations. As a celebration of our 30th anniversary as a Corvette club, it seemed only fitting that we purchase an acre to support the NCM and the Motorsports Park.”
While the CGCC is a social club that enjoys many trips, cruises and events together, they also take pride in giving back to their community. In addition to their contributions to the Museum, they participate in various local events including Wounded Warriors, Corvettes Against Breast Cancer, the Patriot Riders of Georgia, Cops & Kids, Veterans Day Parade and the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Parade.
