2014 Corvette Build Sheets Available

There's a lot of nifty paperwork associated with cars, and while most people throw the stuff out - in some cases the original paperwork is still available. The Build Sheet is often considered the "holy grail" to many. It verifies exactly what options came with your particular car, and it is what goes down the line with the car when it is being assembled.

NCM Library and Archives has received the first set of build sheets for the 2014 Stingrays. We now have available build sheets 100001 through 101925.  If you are one of the lucky owners of the all new 2014 Corvette Stingray, order your build sheet today!

NCCC Midwest Region Joins the One Acre Club

The National Council of Corvette Clubs Midwest Region (NCCC MWR) is made up of 31 clubs and 2329 members. The MWR is a very active region with 191 sanctioned events scheduled this year, 141 of which are Low Speed Autocrosses. The MWR is one of the NCCC's regions and as many know, the NCCC has being actively involved with the National Corvette Museum from the beginning. The NCCC president is on the NCM Board of Directors and many of the MWR members are also members of the NCM.

Gary Kelly, a motorsports enthusiast and a member of Badger State Vettes in the NCCC MWR, is a big proponent of the NCM Motorsports Park. Gary and his wife, Pat, are long time members of the NCM and took advantage of the R8C museum delivery for their 2003 50th Anniversary convertible plus several other Museum events and activities.

“With the nearby Corvette Assembly Plant and Corvette Museum, I strongly felt that the Motorsports Park would be an ideal place to hold future NCCC Conventions, future MWR fundraiser weekends and a convenient place for MWR members to get track time,” said Gary. He wanted the MWR to be known as a contributor to the development of the Motorsports Park.

Working with NCM’s Development Coordinator, Connie Russell, Gary made a presentation on the Motorsports Park at the MWR Governors Meeting on April 27, 2013 encouraging the region to purchase one acre. The proposal received immediate support from a number of the region’s Governors. After sharing the presentation with all the clubs, 100% of the MWR clubs present voted to approve the one acre purchase at its September 14, 2013 meeting. A contributing factor to the approval of the purchase was that the purchase dollars can be used to purchase track time for the MWR.

Raffle Winner Spotlight: Glen & Pat MacDonald

Glen MacDonald has purchased several of our lower priced raffle tickets over the years, but didn’t win big until he spent big. With extra cash available from a few stock shares being sold, he decided to chance it and buy a $250 ticket for the 60th Anniversary 427 Corvette we were raffling off. On June 27, 2013, Glen and his wife Pat received a very exciting phone call letting them know that they won!

Glen and Pat, residents of Highland, Indiana, are members of the Crown Point Corvette Club and have also attended three of the NCM’s C5/C6 Bash celebrations.

When asked about his experience with picking up his new car, Glen says, “I cannot thank everyone at the NCM enough for the way we were treated. Our friends who drove us to Bowling Green were extremely impressed with how everything went like clockwork. Although they are not Corvette people, they are looking forward to returning for a tour of the Museum and the GM Corvette Plant. I felt like a celebrity at the Museum when everyone was asking, “Is that your car?” It was a once in a lifetime experience. We are so happy and thankful for the good luck.”

Next week we raffle off a 2013 Night Race Blue Grand Sport Coupe Corvette! This car is the FIRST Night Race Blue Production Corvette built and is VIN 00003 with approximately 1,732 miles. It features a 6-speed manual transmission, 4LT premium equipment group, Dark Titanium / Ebony Interior with Blue Stitching, Grand Sport Heritage Package with Cyber Gray Fender Stripe, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Removable Transparent Roof Panel, Dual Mode Performance Exhaust, Five-Spoke Black Aluminum Grand Sport Wheels and Cyber Gray Headlamp Color Override.

Tickets are $100 each and the raffle is limited to 1,994 tickets. As of Thursday, September 26 we have sold 707 of the tickets!

Corvette Racing Wins at Austin

Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia scored their second straight victory in the American Le Mans Series’ GT class on Saturday, winning the eighth round of the championship at Circuit of The Americas. Garcia led the final 58 minutes in his No. 3 Compuware Chevrolet Corvette C6.R under intense pressure to win by less than a second.

Their third victory of the season moved Garcia and Magnussen into the lead of the ALMS GT drivers’ championship with two rounds remaining. The result bolstered Chevrolet’s lead in the manufacturer standings and Corvette Racing’s advantage in the team championship.

“The ALMS GT class is ultra-competitive,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Corvette Racing's teamwork was the key element to put us in the best positions to race for a win today. Preparation, strategy, flawless pit stops and incredible driving by Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia delivered a fifth win for Corvette Racing this season. The championship points standings remain very tight. Our focus remains on prep for the final two races of the season.”
