Interesting how the rear doors drop another two inches or so deeper into the sill for entry.  I used to have a few Caddy brochures of their "extended" length line.  The factories must have lost money on those biggies!

Cars were a lot cheaper to build back then. Cad dint loose money on many cars....they had a monopoly on stuff like this one. Funeral homes bought prolly 80% of them, and limo companies bought a lot, too, as did the wealthy folks. A "regular Joe" going to the dealer to buy one would have made up any difference in the pricing for the fleet sales. Fleet cost on one like this might have been, say $5000/$6000, but Regular Joe would have to pay $9,960(factory list price)or more, depending on options, for the same car.
I think there were around 800 or so Limos built for '64, but this one is a "Sedan"...and I ain't real sure what the difference is between the two. All of them had the 429, 340hp V8. I can tell ya this...it takes up all the space available on our big-truck lift! LOL

Didn't some of them have the 472 cu in engine in them?  That may have been a later up grade.  I did some minor work on one that came into the garage I worked in in the late 70's. It could have been what was called the V-8-6-4.

472's came out in '68 and ended in '74.
The V8-6-4 was a 368 cu.in. used in '81. Very problematic system.
