Well...it's not really the age...it's the "Nissan" part of it that makes it leak.....
Is it leaking coolant, or engine oil? If coolant, either the hose(s) is leaking, or the warmer is cracked/corroded. If engine oil, it might just need a couple of new o-ring seals.
Is this an automatic trans? If so, be HAPPY it is the V6 engine, and not the V8(or an '05-up year model). MAJOR problems with the radiators on those, and the failure allows coolant to leak into the trans...where the trans COMPUTER is. You prolly know that electronics and water are not good bedfellows. Once the trans has coolant/water in it, it's lights out for the TCM(trans control module)...and the rest of the trans as well.
Nissan has been having to
warranty those things for YEARS ....seems to me they would rather solve the problem to begin with, but so far, they haven't addressed the issue with the radiators....
