I mentioned this to a few members at the MAM C3 Fest / C3VR 2011 Gathering.
I sent an e-mail to a few members in the area.
And I believe Adam has sent an e-mail to members as well.
I have called a few places to make reservations.
Now we need some commitments.
Please read the info below and make some decisions.
Your decisions can be changed and modified, if necessary.
I have estimated we will have about 30 people. I hope I am close.
Looking forward to a great time.
Dave

Dave, thanks for putting the work into this.  I hope we can join, but I won't know for sure until we get much closer.  If I had to guess, I'd say we won't (Wits Enddang it!) be able to make it.

But I'm gonna try!!  It sounds like a great time

I fixed the link for the Curtiss Museum. That is an interesting place for aviation history.
If you went on this trip a few years ago, you know how much fun it was then. This one will be even better.

Dave, since this is relatively close to you, is your wife going to join us, or are we going to start wondering if you've made her up?  :)

Marshall,
You are very funny man.LOL
A select few C3VR members have actually met my wife. In person. Or at least I introduced her as my wife.Wink
But alas, she will not be attending this event.
Unless I can get her to drive down Saturday night for the boat cruise.Smile

I called the Budget Inn and got them to extend the hold on the rooms until August 19th.
I also invited members from my local Corvette Clubs.
If you have friends with Corvettes that would like to join us, let me know.
They don't have to be C3s.

I so had a great time when we got to run the Glen.......LOL
Evil Smileebo
I had just put on the new firestones 3 days earlier and the had very few miles on them, they say not to overdrive the tires until all mold release agents hve been removed from the rubber. Was not sure what would happen going into that turn, by the sound of the tires squeling I think I scrubbed the 'New" off em. That is M&S I'm following. What you don't see is Terry Ricers (Tricer) C5 behind me sucking me up.....because wild man DaveM was pushing him hard! Dave turns into a completly different person behind the wheel of that monster motor......

Bad news...  You need two more cars for the discount.  Candi and I need to drop out.  My big project at work is ramping up along with more international travel and I just don't see how we can do this event.

I was really looking forward to all of it and to seeing everyone again.

I need to let the Esperanza Rose know what we want for our main meal so they can have the food ready for us Saturday evening.

The choices are:
Prime Rib
Stuffed Chicken
or
Grilled Salmon

You can see the complete dinner menu at www.esperanzaboat.com.

If you are planning to do the dinner cruise, please let me know which one(s) you would like.
I need to call them by Sept. 16th.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Dave:

Our schedule has opened up for this weekend...Is it too late to join in the fun??  I calld the motels & both have openings.  Can we still get in on the Esperanza Dinner Cruise?

One more question for anyone.  The Budget Inn also has an opening at the Seneca Clipper next door - is one any nicer than the other?  Please let me know so I can make reservations - thanks!

Bobbi,
I looked at the Budget rooms and they are nice. I didn't go next door, so I don't know about the Clipper.
Sounds like you are all set anyway.

Are you meeting us Thursday night for dinner?

I will call tomorrow with a new count for the Saturday evening dinner cruise. It should not be a problem.

What would you and Frank like for your main course; prime rib, stuffed chicken or salmon?

Mark- Tell your friends to come up Sunday morning. Right now we only have 8 for the Glen and we need 10.

Now start praying for good weather.

Dave

Patricia and I do plan to attend at least some of the events.  Not sure which or when as our plans are very fluid and subject to change.  My vette is already in Lake Ariel, Pa just waiting.  We must now get there long enough to put her on the road.

Harry and Patrica,

We sure hope you two can join us.
Check on the motels for availability.
If you can do the dinner cruise Saturday night, I need to know your choice for the main course.

Hope to see you soon.

Dave, how many do you have for the Watkins Glen drive?  Can anyone with a Vette join in?  I would like to drive the track before storing the car away and know of one other that would like to do the same, maybe a few more from my club if I get the word out to them.  Let me know.

Thanks

STOP THE PRESSES!!!

A slight change in plans that will affect some of us.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, the Watkins Glen Track will not be available on Sunday, Oct. 9th at noon.

It will be available on Sunday at 5 PM, but I am thinking that is too late for most of us.

It will also be available on Friday, 10/7 at 5:00 PM, so I am going to slightly modify our schedule so that after Friday lunch, we will head to the track. Line up is at 4:30 PM at Gate #2.
I will stop at The Shop in Watkins Glen to get the tickets for everyone that wants to do the three laps.
After the laps we can check into the motel and then go to dinner.

Sunday morning, after brunch, we will run the "old course" through the countryside and town before departing.

Sound OK?
