Well, I've narrowed down the pics to ones that are useable. Now, I have a problem with "How the heck do I get them inserted into the text?". I'm a big Gomer when it comes to doing stuff like this. I want to do this like you would see in any other manual, with the text here, and the pic next to it.("See fig. 1") I've tried to do stuff like this afore, but it jes don't come out correct.
Any suggestions on a particular software program? I have "Works", but not "Word", on my 'puter(which, by the way, is still in the "shop" ).
Also, this is likely gonna be a fairly LONG read(over 70 pics, alone). Would it be best to do it in sections, or all at once? A little guidance would be most appreciated.
Adam, WORD does this sort of stuff pretty well and
without too much learning curve, which will leave
you with a finished .DOC file just great. But I am
not too sure how that .DOC file would then get
translated into HTML for posting on the site ???
(which I presume has to be done ?) **Help** you
webbies out there !!!

WORD has a pretty nifty feature where you can just
"insert" a "box" anywhere you like in a bunch of text
and the text will automatically "wrap" around it. You
can then shift / resize this "box" and the text will
just move automatically to suit. Any picture can be
inserted into these "boxes," so long as it is a .JPG
format picture. (WORD will handle a few other picture
formats as well)

Well, guyz-n-galz...I started this project up again a few days ago(the trans thing), but I still don't know how it's gonna look as a finished product. I can't seem to get the pics on the page large enough to be useful, and still have any room for text!
The experiment continues...I need ideas...should this be something that can be printed out as a "booklet", or a text file with "see photo #100" on a disc? I'm gettin discouraged...

Joel, you need a computerGeek, someone who can formulate the text and pictures in a usable format, maybe a PDF file, or maybe in excel, or a slide presentation..Some one out there can help?Smile Where  are you..

I do now have all the "MS Office" programs, with "Word", etc. It just looks like the pics will have to be almost half to full-page size to be able to see them clearly enough to be usefull. And this is with close-ups!

You could use the technique for displaying large pictures here in the threads. Have a smaller picture be a hot link to a larger one.

Working up a document in Word and then saving it as a web page (.htm) does work fairly well.  I've done a little of that at work with some application documentation.

Joel, as the owner of a '78 with a TH350, I can't wait for this 'tutorpictorial' to be ready...(and then I can send you the trans for repair when I'm done messin' with it.....)

hmmm...come to think of it, actually a very clever ploy on your part

Engine going in this weekend, so I'll take some pics.  It will be good for those who need to bring the hoist in from the side with the drivers front wheel off.

Hmmm...exactly HOW do you make a "hot link" on a hard copy???

I thought this was gonna be an "article" of sorts, maybe something to put in Shark Bytes? Geeez....now I may have to start over!
