If you became a C3VR member (trial or otherwise) since August 1st, 2007, please answer the following question.
If you have been a member since before that date, feel free to browse this thread, but please do not reply.

Thanks!

Question: Since joining, do you feel you have been accepted or excluded by existing members? Or, perhaps you don't feel either, just somewhere in the middle.

You may reply right here on this thread, or if you would rather not be public with your response, please email or PM me.

I've gotten some helpful responses.  There seems to be a core group here that jump in on nearly everything and a whole lot of lurkers that are rather reserved about what and/or who they reply to tho.  I'm sure it will take a while to warm up to me.  I've been involved in another car discussion group since usenet days in the early 90s, now a forum - celicasupra.com  The old guard there is a bit testy.  I'm guilty of it myself at times.  Seems every possible question has been asked and answered ad-infinitum and so newbies who don't realize they've asked a repeat question for the umpteenth time get hammered.  I haven't seen that kind of attitude here.  Based on past experience, I was afraid it was going to be tough to be a newbie again, but so far I feel welcome.

Adam,

I feel accepted by the members here. Many take the time to explain their answers in full so a newcomer like me can understand.

There definitely is a "core group" here, but they do not seem at all like thay feel "above" a new guy like me. Their answers are real helpful!
And, heck, I just get a kick out of the jibberjabber that goes back and forth. Sometimes I just read the threads and get a chuckle out of what's being said. Even when I have nothing to add.

C3VR seems to have a real welcoming, down to earth mentality going on here.

I look forward to the spring time when we'll all have our Vettes back out of the garage and meeting a few more members at gatherings.

Good Stuff !!!

While I'm just "getting in to" using this board more often now that I'm a Gold Member, I have no doubt whatsoever that I'll be accepted by my fellow C3 breatheren, and that I'll always get the answers or opinions I'm looking for.

Anyone others recently joined that would like to comment?

Hi Adam:

I feel quite at home here and have had numerous questions answered and have even been congratulared on finding my build sheet by 3-4 people.  I really feel like this is a great place to share and learn.  I am new to Corvettes  (not new to collector cars) but try to find a forum on a 1963 Pontiac Parisienne; it doesn't exist.

About the only thing I have not figured out is how to post a picture at the end of my signature!

I have always looked into other forums, CF, CAC, etc, but I feel the most welcomed and akin to the C3VR. I just hope I will be able to meet most of you in the future. I kind of found C3VR by accident, but I am glad I did!

I have to say I feel very welcome. I've had my questions answered here. I'm a little reserved on answering questions because I'm new to the corvette but not to cars. I do all my own work so as I work on my corvette I will feel a little more at ease to answer questions.

I was glad to see Adams e-mail of the Forum Update because I intended to respond with a post a few weeks ago, however, I got busy with other things, didnt turn the computer on for a week and.........well you know how it goes.

I feel very welcome  on this site for the short time I have been a member.  I have only asked a couple of questions, and have been very impressed with both the number and quality of responses.  I have also been impressed with the amount of knowledge and expertise of some of the members.  They helped me with my problem (Tach Drive) in a very easy to understand way.  I now realize that this problem has been addresed at least a dozen times before, but they were very patient with me.  Thank you to all.

Although I am new to this Forum ( A year ago I didn't know these types of forums existed) I have owned Corvettes for many many years and thought I knew alot about them.

I bought my first Vette in 1970.  A '69 427, 390 hp Riverside Gold Coupe.
(By the way I really like Miki's pictures.  Looks very familar.)  In 1973, I bought the Corvette that I still own today.  A '72 350, 200 hp auto Targa Blue Coupe.  In those days, we didn't even call em C3's.  Can you believe it??  You can say the Corvette has been a very important part of my life.  I feel very fortunate to have been able to hang on to it through school, family, wife, kids, jobs, moving, etc. etc. etc.  And yes, I still have the same wife that I had in 1972.  One more thing, in 1974 the blue coupe was the only car we owned when our daughter was born.  Can you imagine bringing a baby home from the hospital in a Corvette today?  I guess life was just simpler.

Back to the Forum......... I really enjoy getting to know the guys and gals that post often.  (I really do feel that I know them.)  I also appreciate the good natured banter back and forth between them.  Very entertaining!  Lastly, I feel that I have learned a great deal about the sports car that I have owned for many years, and look forward to the sharing of information in the future.

Sorry if this has gotten a little long.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Dean
