I have added a link to the top of the Message View page (next to the "Watch/UnWatch Topic" link) that will allow you to temporarily disable signatures and profile pictures from showing on the Message View pages during your session. This is could be useful for those of you on slow or mobile connections, or if you don't want that many images showing on your screen while you're browsing at work (but no one here does that, Wink

)

This will only stay active for your current session and you can turn it back on during the same session by clicking the link again.

Note that smiles and other images in the thread or in the header and side bars of the page will still show.

Hopefully some of you will find this new feature useful.

THANK YOU! I have been missing the option to disable the signature....sometimes, I don't want to show it if I'm giving condolences for a death in someone's family...or something as somber.

but...I ain't seeing it right now...

Joel,

I think I know what you were thinking, you were thinking about the option to NOT include your signature on a specific post.

The problem is that your signature being attached to your posts is not related to an individual post, but is a profile setting that affects ALL posts, new & old. So if you turn it off in your profile, no one will ever see it. If you turn it on in your profile, they will see it as long as they haven't chosen to hide signatures for the session.

Ed Zachary....the "old" software had that option. But this set-up will work just as well. Thumbs Up

I've noticed some signatures end up being wider than a standard screen. Because of this, all posts on those pages end up wrapping the text out that far, requiring you to scroll left and right to read them. Turning off signatures when reading those posts should help that.

When I see this issue you are talking about, it is usually because of an image within a post, not a signature. If you happen to notice a particular signature causing this problem, please alert me or one of the Moderators and we can fix it.
