Let me start by saying I'm as dumb as a box of metric hammers when it comes to 'puters, so I really need some help/info here I have been having trouble logging onto the site at times. I get a 'unsuccessful login' message, 'due to a cookie problem'. I'm goin' nuts here. Adam suggested I reboot, and so far, that's what I have been doing, but what a PITA. This problem only occured AFTER the switch to the new forum software. I can see when I logon, that one more 'user online' has been counted, and I can access any part of the site, with the exception of the FORUM I know there has to be someone out there that can give me an idea on what to check, change, hammer, or SOMETHING!! I have checked my browser settings, and all are set to allow 'cookies'. PUULEEEEASE   HELP! Thanks!

You mentioned this happens "at times". Is there a set of events or pattern to when you see it happen?

I'm assuming you use Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6 (the latest version)... next time rather than reboot you can try and delete your existing cookies (select Tools from the top menu bar, select Internet Options from the pulldown, in the center box labeled Temporary Internet Files select delete cookies and in the Delete Cookies confirmation window press OK).

The caveat here is that this will delete all your cookies so any sites that you have custom setting on (like any site where you have "remember me") will also lose thier cookies.

Thanks, Roger, for the response. I have IE 5.5 on this relic. I have found that the problem occurs every time I have new E-mail, and I'm greeted with it when I log onto the 'net. Even if I don't check my mail first, I have this problem. I use Juno as my I.P., as well as E-mail. I can delete 'cookies' easy enough, but when you say I might have a problem with other sites, you lost me. The only sites I have to "log-on" to are this one, my E-mail, and E-bay. If I clear 'cookies', will that keep me from getting to these, or will it do something else? I don't mind having to enter my name & password on these sites, if that's all that's required. Adam sent me a link to remove cookies, but so far it hasn't done anything. I'm gonna go ahead and manualy delete them now, and see if I can re-log onto C3VR. Wishes me lucks!
Well, I got right back in! Also free'd up over 100mb of space! Now I'll go to e-mail, and see if I gets back in OK.
Woo-Hooo!! Went and actually sent an e-mail out, and was able to log right back into C3VR with NO problems I hope my luck holds out! It's amazing how much faster this rag is now, too. Fasten yer seatbelt!!! Thanks ,Roger, I owes ya one You deserves a cookie! Adams' Apple38407.8296296296
