The only problem I have had is when I click the link in my e-mail notifications it won't link up to the forum. It links to the redirect page and just keeps clicking, but that may be on my end.None of the problems you mentioned though.

It takes a long time for some of the pages to load for me; sometimes 2min. or more, but I just assumed it was my p.o.s. modem The posts that have a lot of replys take forever to load.
I do'nt know if I am the only one or not, sometimes it takes 2or3 times to log in and get into the forums, then when I do get to the forum section ,and pick one ,for example ENGINES,and wait for it too come up so I can check out the different topics, I will click on it,and nothing will happen.then I click my BACK button ,reclick on Engines ,wait again, sometimes I get in sometimes not.It happens on all different subjects. Is this just me or is anybody else having these problems ?
Ron, are you still experiencing the time lag in accessing the forums?  The switch to the new forum-ware has introduced a secondary login which has added an additional step to the process of getting to the list of forums.  But once there the performance of the site should be as good or better than the old software was.

btw - you should not need to log in and out of the site as you described above.  The hop to the forums list page will vary by the type of internet connection you have.  High-speed users should see virtually no delay while dialup users will get to know the details of the intermediate page fairly well (meaning it will take a few seconds).

Jules,

Try logging into the site before clicking on the e-mail notification link.  Adam had mentioned a problem with the e-mail notifications a while back and I don't know if he has resolved it yet.

Joel,

Being on a dialup connection at home I feel your pain.  Long threads, especially those with large photos embedded in them, are particularily painful to wait for.  If I have a lot of reading to get caught up on I'll open another window and have two (or more) forum sessions going at once.  That way I can be reading one thread while another is loading.

Bob,

I'm sorry you're having trouble, but I would appreciate if you give us a chance to figure out and flush out any problems the site might have.

From what I can tell, the majority of the members are having no problems accessing the new forums.  I even sent out an email to everyone a few weeks ago asking people to let me know if they were having problems.  Only a handful of people replied with problems.  And most of them have since been addressed.

When did you change the "Send Email to me in HTML format" setting in your profile?  If you set it after you got the text version of the email, you need to wait until the next one is sent out.

Also, I receive both the HTML and the Plain Text version of the Email Forum Updates every day.  Mine are complete messages.  How do you retrive your email?  On the web or on an application on your PC, etc?

If you're willing to work with us, we'll get your situation figured out.

Thanks!

Ron,

I have noticed occasional delays downloading a page.  Usually it is only a problem for a minute or two.  I am still trying to track down what the issue is, and will resolve it as soon as I do.

I did fix the problem of clicking a link in an email to get right to a post.  It should not be an issue any more.  If it still is, let me know.

Please bear with us until we work out all the kinks.  The more info you can provide about problems you are having, the better we'll be able to find out what the cause is.

Thanks!
