For the record, I hate pop-ups too. As long as C3VR is under my control, there will NEVER be pop-up ads.
There are currently pop-up private messages, and there have been in the past (and may be in the future) pop-up important messages relating to C3VR or your C3VR account.
The reason the Googls ads are between the text of a thread and the reply box is that not everyone reading the thread will reply. So, they will get to the bottom and stop scolling. If the ads were below the reply box, when they got to the reply box and stopped scrolling, they'd never see the ads. The ads won't make C3VR any money if they are never seen...because if they are never seen, they'll never get clicked on.
Thanks for the feedback and support, gang!! You're the best!

[QUOTE=Adams' Apple]Adam, do these "Ads" have counters, that tell the advertisers how many "hits" they get off of this site? If so, I might actually start checking some out, just to add to the total.
I really do not like going to other sites that I am not familiar with...I don't wish to make my 'puter sick!

Yes, the more clicks on the ads, the better...but technically, I'm not supposed to solicit clicks. So only click if you find the advertised link interesting and something you'd like to find out more about.
As far as your concern about going to unfamiliar sites...there are no guarantees, but I'd have to say you're less likely to find a problem going to one of these sites, becuase they have to pay Google to display their ad. I'd think a site with malicious intentions are not very likely to pay to advertise their malicious site.

There was a problem with the server earlier. I don't know what it was, but I rebooted the server and it seems to bring the site back to its usual speed. I still need to install the new forum software when I have a chance which should speed things up more (i hope!)
The google ads are unrelated to the speed issue.
