This is one, fantastic web site. I joined as a Standard member in July and then upgraded to Gold at Carlise in August. Since joining I have posted a few threads asking members for advice and/or tips in areas I was struggling with. Their responses have been quick and very useful. I own a 1978 Silver Anniversary Coupe, Beige w/dark brown interior. I have owned her for 24 great years. She has 116,453 miles on her and still runs strong. Recently I've been doing some well deserved maintence to her. Basically a frame on restoration as far as new bushings, body mounts, vac hoses, brake lines, etc. I haven't touched the rear bearings at all and don't know if I should.( If it ain't broke don't fix it). Anyways to make a long story short I wish I found this site earlier and as I said in one of my threads you can read all the manuals, books, etc. but its great to get advice from people who have been there and done that on the ultimate and only sports car: the Corvette. Thanks again for your help. Great job!!! |cheers| |thumb|

Do,nt let those axle bearings go,it will make a good winter project for you.Ai'nt nothin sadder than watching one of your own rear wheels pass you when you are driving down the road.you dont want to have to buy a new spindle, just because you didnt do it b-4 hand ,if its got 116000 miles on it they are ready to be done.if you cant do it yourself, find someone who can.make sure it is done right ,you dont want to do it again just because BUBBA does,nt know what he is doing,be safe, a VETTE does'nt look pretty sitting on the side of the road, with only 3 wheels,it ai'nt a pretty site. |cussing| |hammer| |frown| |ohwell| |eek| |saluteflag| |withstupid|
