I was wondering if a meat head could understand the directions from the support team to figure out how to get that web page thing going on.  I mean I am a lifetime member and it is a feature of that so I thought why not activate it..

If for some strange reason it is activated then my next question would be what can I or do I do with it...  Thanks geek squad...

I agree with Larry...I'd like to do a homepage as well, but am not technosavvy like others.  Don't think there are clear enough directions on what to do with the homepage, or it's potential.

Any help from the wicked for the sinful would be appreciated!

The Homepage feature, as it stands right now, is simply a space for you to upload an HTML page to the C3VR website and point people to it.

There is no automation to create the page for you.

You may be able to ask some tech savvy members to help you out.

Ok, I have some progress shots of my car uploaded to my page. When I click on my own link, I'm prompted for my password. I put the pictures in there so other members could see the progress, Can they?

I clicked on your profile and then your home page link.
I got the log on screen for name and password.
I put my name and password in, but then my personal file folder came up.

So no, I didn't see your homepage.

Maybe if you put you homepage link in your signature it would work.

The only one who has access to your PFF or PHP is you (and the Admin Group).  In order to see the images you have uploaded there you must either:

(a) build a web page that has the images displayed or has links to the individual images (the prefered approach)

- or -

(b) display the images and/or links in a thread (please remember to limit the size of the images to 400 pixels wide if you choose to display them in a thread - use links for larger images).

Jim,
For the Gold and Lifetime members, how do they "build a webpage"?

A person needs to know basic HTML in order to build a web page (I have to admit I'm more than just a bit rusty as I haven't worked with any native HTML in quite awhile).  Once the page has been coded and tested successfully that file, or files, needs to be uploaded to your PHP folder and accessed.  The URL is referenced the same way an image file is, except using the URL HTML tags instead of the IMG tags.

There are many software packages available to help you. Microsoft's Frontpage being one of them. Of course, you could just get yourself a book and use Notepad to write the code yourself too..it would take you a little longer but might save you some money if you don't have Frontpage already loaded on your PC.
