Hello,

I just checked the new messages on the forum. I saw a post by Crossfire1982, Chip, but, there was no post title and I can't view it. I have seen this happen before but have not commented on it.  Also, I can see 3 views so, somebody can see it.  Maybe the moderators can view it but, why can't others.

Or is it just me?

Thanks,

Keith

(updated by AW, it was missing thread title (ironic, isn't it!?))

I looked for a post by  Crossfire1982    but did not see one that was missing a thread title.  However, your post here about the missing thread title WAS missing a thread title.  (Ironic, right?!)  I have seen this before too.  I imagine this happens because someone forgets to put a Message Title in the Message Title box when they create a new message. It is supposed to stop you from posting if you do not put a title in, but somehow it seems to get through occasionally.

It's been happening a LOT here lately. Missing titles on threads, along with duplicate threads AND posts. I think sometimes, folks are hitting the "New Topic" button instead of the "Post Reply" button, and ya get the thread with no title. Don't know what's going on with the duplicate threads and posts, but I got an error message yesterday I had never seen before, even tho my post did go thru. I did a screen cap, but it's on the puter at home. It was a FULL PAGE of the same error message, over and over.. got it several times yesterday.

btw..., Adam when I see a new thread with no title, I have been editing the OP's post, and adding the title...that may be why you did not see one with no title. Also..when ya'll see a thread with no title, click on the "Last Post" box to the far right of the thread column...that will take you to the thread, since there is no title to click on. That's why you can see that others have viewed it. If youse guys/gals do see one like that, please report it to one of the Moderators so we can fix it.

On a similar thought..when I see a thread with no title, sometimes it is actually a response to another post in another thread. But....we cannot move the "orphaned" post into the correct forum thread....we can only move threads to different forums. We do NOT have an option to move posts into specific threads...as we used to be able to do...Angry

Hello,

Thanks for the input.  I'll be more careful when starting a thread.  It seems that
my 30 year old car just breaks more and more these days.  Go figure....

I know I've been guilty of this sin at least a few times in the past.  I think Joel's correct - it's fairly easy to hit the "new topic" button instead of the "reply" button.

Yep, I screwed up on that post guys.  After I saw it I couldnt get in to change it until I clicked the little arrow to take me to the last post in the thread.  Then edited the post to add the title.
