Well people, what do you think of the new format? I'am not sure about it yet, seems as if you have to click more to get where you want to go, replies to replies used to come directly in an e-mail, now you have to go to the topic page and scroll to the bottom of the topic to get the reply, it hell for us dial up folks, what say you.

I like being able to see all the posts on a thread as you are replying. I think that is a big plus.

I would rather see the message as an email than click on the link and wait for the page to come up.

I would still like to see one list of all of the posts from the last 24 hours.

Overall, I like it, but hopefully Adam has the flexibility to put in the things we liked about the old software.

There is currently a problem with clicking on a link to a post in an email.  It should take you right to the post, but it does not.  Until I can fix that... I have turned on the feature that should mail you the post instead of a link.  That should take effect as of the time of my reply here.

Please be patient as I work as hard as possible to fix all the bugs, respond to peoples comments and implement people's suggestions.

Thank you.

Thanks Adam....Seems my comment about the NEW e-mail notifications being  worthless...may have been made too soon...the links fail to deliver me to the correct area 4 out of 5 times....And I gave up looking for the specific post a couple  of times...

The complete  forum update I get daily has not yet shown one single
link... not  a one..

Adam,

Thanks for all of your hard work, it takes time to get used to it, and to fix the bugs.

The feature that I miss is the one where the post shows that a reply was made "today" in bold yellow . My old eyes, even with glasses on, have a hard time seeing the date. Maybe you can make the date in bold letters.

This morning (2/4/05) the notification I got in my regular e-mail took me directly to the Post that Ron sent.    Caused me to jump up and down prase the lord and sing a song...

Seems  Adam ihas been hard at work getting things sorted out for which I have to thank him...   Slowly I am "learning" to... if not like this new format .. at least tolerate it ..hopefully I will soon begin to honestly like it..

Now this weekend project is to add pics to the signiture again... Thst is if I do not go out chasen women... instead..   (like my wife would let me )...lol

Actually, I haven't fixed that yet.  You just got lucky!

If you were already logged in to the site and the forums, the links in the emails have a better chance of working.

Not that I don't appreciate the hard work Adam did, but I don't like change, as you can see, I haven't posted my picture yet, as I don't have the time to deal with it.  In time I'll get off my butt and do it, but again, I'm getting old, crabby and don't like change.  I think that makes me an average American male.

Overall, I think Adam has done a great job updating the site. There are a few bugs here and there, but how many remember the '68 Vettes ! The one thing that I have a problem with is, when I log onto the site, it takes me to the old 'Forums Active' page. Then I click on a post to read, and it tells me my log-in was successful, please wait while returned to forums page, but it never returns. I just click on the 'Active Topics' and go from there. Whaz-zup wit dat? It also seems like it takes longer to load the pages than before, but that could very well be my 'solid-axle' 'puter system. I used to be able to hit 'C3VR logging in' on my 'favorites' dropdown, log in and go. It's a minor inconvienience, but I'm just wanderin', is it just me ? I still love the site, it has become addictive Mama don't unnerstand!!

Just below the site's main menu bar click on the "Active Topics" icon and then look for a dropdown box just above the list of threads labeled "Show Active Topics since".  Scroll down the selections and then click on "Yesterday".  That will produce a list of threads that is virtually the same as the old "24 hours" list.

Just like our local gov't. You get used to their way of doing things. And when you get it all figured out, it all changes again. Another change shoved down our throats. I'm not even going to try to figure half of this stuff, sig.pics,etc. And the lay out seems harder on the eyes.

I paid my $199, thats enough to entitle me to Bit#h. Good Day

A really dumb question. Why did the format change or get updated in the first place? Seems like if it aint broke, why fix it? Old farts hate change, especially when it comes anything on the PC. I'll get used to eventually......

Yes, the web site has gotten a lot more busy, and us blind b^$+^%d's have to squint a little more to read the page but but I'am on web tv, I get to look at it on a big screen, not a tiny computer monitor, just takes a while because of the dial up, it doesn't hurt for the site to have a little more splash, might help bring in and keep new people, without new members we won't have anything to talk about.

Thank you kindly Norsky. I'll buy ya a beer. I love to plow some snow. But the weather unfortunately is going to be warmer and sunny. So much for the good run of overtime I've had for the past few week.

I'm with the Sarge on this one.......I guess the older you get, the more you resist change. Maybe I just haven't given it much of a chance (time contraints lately) and it'll become second-nature when I do. Oh well, it's 49 degrees out, I'm warming her up for an early morning run down the backroads. A little eye-opening before I settle in to some chores. Have a great weekend, guys.
