I get an email notifying me of a PM in C3VR. When I click on the PM link, I have to log in TWICE. What's with that?

If you do not click the "Save Login on My Computer" box on the C3VR login page, you will get prompted to log in anytime you try to get in the forums, PMs or anything that requires an account to view.  You should only get prompted to login once.  I just tried it and only got prompted once.

Are you saying that you litterally have to enter your member name & password, click Submit, then you have to enter your member name & password and click Submit a second time?

Yep - TWO times. They're different screens though. The only time I've ever seen the second one is going to a PM from an email link.

Terry,
Try this to see if it helps (i'm guessing you are using windows):

1. On the Windows Start Menu, select "Run..." (or hold down the windows emblem key and press the R key)
2. In the Run box, in the "Open" field type %userprofile% (yes, type the percent symbols too), then click the OK button (or press enter).
3. The Windows Explorer window that opens should show you a list of folders.  Double-click the "Cookies" folder.
4. On the View menu, select "Details"
5. Click on the column header that says "Name" so that there is a little up arrow next to the word "Name".  (This sorts the column by Name).
6. Search for any files with "@c3vetteregistry.com", "@c3vr.com", "@www.c3vetteregistry.com" or "@www.c3vr.com" in their name.
7. Right-Click on any that you find, and then click "Delete"

If this doesn't help, please send me an email with your password and I will try to duplicate the error while logged in as you.

Thanks!

Well ... I'm not using IE. I'm using Netscaper Navigator 7.2. Much, much like risky than IE. Also, I NEVER do a "Save This Login On My Computer"!!! Again, much too risky. This double login thing only started recently - seems close to the time the new forum software went on.

Wow...people still use netscape? LOL

I think I might have NS7.2 installed at home.  I'll take a look this weekend.
In the meantime, whatever the method is in Netscape to clear cookies with the above mentioned names, please try that.

Thanks!

By the way...as a computer programmer, I can tell you that unless other people use your computer (like if you were using C3VR from work or another public place), or you don't want your wife or kids to log into C3VR as you.... then there is no reason to not use the "Save This Login on My Computer"

Even if your C3VR password were to be comprimised... it is not like C3VR has any important info on file.  All we store is your name and address.  That's it.  Not to mention if it was comprimised, all you'd have to do is log in and change it.... or email or call me or Jim about it.

It is much easier to browse the site after checking that box on the login page.

So we should change our forum settings when the time changes?
