Adam....can you make the time allowed before being logged out a bit longer, like you did with the older version? I'm running into that same old issue of being timed out if I don't post within a certain amount of time. I think Scott(cj5nutz) stated in a post he had spent a while typing a response, and it wouldn't post. We had that issue before where some folks took a little longer to peck out a response, then it wouldn't post due to the time allotment. Of course, most of us have learned to "copy" our posts before hitting "post reply", but sometimes....we forget...

I run from one page of the forums to another in different windows/tabs, and sometimes while I'm posting in one forum, the time here expires, and I have to log back in...same thing if I just go off the site for a few minutes, it will not show the 24 hour or "active/new" threads...it will show "there are no new posts since last last visit, milliseconds ago"...

btw...this is an issue on all of the registry sites(C3/4/6), not just C3VR.
Thanks!

Ditto

I sometimes open another tab and pull up a SB article to reference in a thread.  I tried that on Glenn's (Flemgunner) yesterday and lost it twice before I got it right.

Thanks to Joel, I now will copy the post before I post it.  Although it does provide a great deal of humor for Vicki so maybe you should SHORTEN the time...

Actually, the timeout is currently set to 60 minutes.  So either you're waiting over 60 minutes to post, or something else is going on. ARG!

Same here.  I'll put the clock on one today or tomorrow and see how long but I have been actively typing, opened another web page to verify something before typing and probably in the 5 - 10 min range come back and it's gone.

I'm not opening a new tab but a completely separate page.  I have tried the new tab and the results have been the same so I went to the new page but that didn't help either.

It seems to be more moody sometimes than others.  Is this software female?

Could you please note EXACTLY what steps you are doing that cause this problem and then let me know what those steps are?  I can not duplicate it.  So hopefully with your step-by-step, I can.
Thanks!

Adam , I go to the site , click on the reply and if I take more than about 5 minutes to type a reply, I get the timed out response. I do not post that much and I definatly can not type so it does take a couple of minutes to respond to a post or to make one . I almost never have another  page open other than maybe an email but I take care of business and them get off. BTW this reply took about 3 minutes give or take.

So, at 12:02, I typed text into the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of this thread page.  Then, I waited until 12:43 to click the "Post Reply" box.  As you can see above, the post worked.  So there must be something that you guys are doing differently than me.
Are you using the Quick Reply box or the Full reply page?
Anything else you can think of that might be different?

It's quite erratic, for me. It doesn't necessarily do it every time. Of course, I never pay any attention to how I'm actually posting, as far as Quick or Post Reply, so I can't say if it's one or the other, but I'll try to make a note next time.
Here's a "for instance" that I'm having.
I'm logged in here, on the "New Posts" page. I'll open another tab/window from the "User's Online" button, because that's an easy way to open a new window. I'll log into C4VR, and poke around there for a few minutes. Then I'll open another window, and check my Goldwing forum for a few minutes. I'll click back over to C3VR, it either the "refresh" button, or click on the "New Posts" button, and I'll have to log back in. All of this will entail perhaps a 10 minute "non-active" status from C3VR.
Again, it's not happening every time, but it is quite frequent. I'm running the same system/settings as before the upgrade, so....unless there's something I need to re-set on my end, I can't begin to say which end the issue is on.
For ME, it's really just a minor nuisance. For others, it may be a major deal.
I would have to recommend that everyone please "Copy" their longer posts, just to be safe...

Ok...I originally typed this in at 12:22p here. I'm gonna go run around at C4VR for a few minutes, and see what happens. This is not an edit.
