I've used about all of them except for Zaino & Griots. To be honest I really didn't notice that much of a difference, except for the prices. (I have a small fortune invested in waxes)The best suggestion I can give is to clay bar the car first. I did this then I used Zymol & then Zymol's Enhancer, the car looked great.
If I recall there was a recent posting on wax comparison and Turtle Wax gave the best result. They (Turtle Wax) now have a new wax called Ice, I will be trying that next and post the results.
meguiar,s, easy on, easy off, best on white, easy to wash off road film and dirt when using mcguiar's on my white vette. gene
Same here on green... easy to apply/remove
Reality!!!
You can't really answer that question unless yourself tries all the waxes available and compare by your judgment alone. I've found out in websites and wax websites that I'm on, that everyone will tell you what they use and how good it is. Not to hurt anyone but it's true.
I will tell you I use Meguiar's more then Mother's, Turtle Wax and Zaino. To me all are good. I'm just looking for which one lasts longer. And most of them lasts about 1 1/2 weeks with only one coat because of my driving style. Mostly people wash, prep, polish and wax to make the vehicle looking sharp.
Good Luck with your pick.
After you rubout, spitshine, etc., I use Formula "113" One Step Cleaner Wax, then use the Formula "113" X Bead. The X bead sure works nice. By the way, my car is black!

In my opinion, for what its worth. Everything is a matter of personal preference. I've used a lot of the different waxes over the years. Including some of the high priced ones. If you are into show and shines, then they do a very good job. We drive ours a lot, and I have had issues with the C-5's butt attracting dust and looking dirty within a few miles from the house, unless I use Rejex. For ease of use with a very similar result I have found the Meguire's NXT is very good. Our 78 does not attract dust on its butt like the 03 does. The only thing that I probably am paticular about is putting the car away for the winter. I will wash, clay, wash, polish, and wax the toys, before the winter covers go on in garage. I don't like all of the summer fun sitting on the paint surface all winter.
Just remember no answer here is correct, just the one that works best for you.

I have used the Meguires and several others but it always comes down to duration Denny how long does it last.
I generally use Meguiars products, (http://meguiars.com/) little effort but lots of result - however, Buffalomilke (http://buffalomilke.com/) has some great products too that are as easy to use as Meguiars. It's a toss up between the two. It's easier to buy Meguiars right off the shelf, but Buffalomilke ships pretty quick, just one more thing for the off season list of things to buy.
I'm sure it looks great as is, but I also know of the adiction many of us have with dust, spots and swirls!
I use the "113" X Bead on the Vette about four times in the summer, it sets in the shop all the time and gets very dusty. The truck and the wifes car are waxed in the spring and right before winter to fight off road salt.
I use the X bead as needed, it takes off bug and bird do-do.
When washing them, Meguiar's Detailer Shampoo Plus seems to work well for me. I really don't like or have the time to wax them too much.
I have been in the Car Hobby for 30-40 years now...and believe me when I say That I have used everything ...
For the last 5 years ( a extremely long time for me) I have used nothing but Finish First... easy on and even a week later easy off...Loike it so much I buy it in gallons (I do have 5 Corvettes)..
To me Zaino is darn good...BUT its work to put on...and I'm retired
and do not like work...
www.auto-ease.com is a source for the product but I buy it at Carlisle
every year...

These are great suggestions from everyone it's nice to hear about what people's choices are ..... currently I was trying Eagle One Nanowax which is their new carnauba spray wax. It seems to do a fairly good job getting a gloss shine for little effort . But because white seems to be tough to get the deep wet luster the darker vettes show.....I was curious to see what is used on white.

On the '00 FRC I have been using Zaino for the past three years. Happy with the result, but somewhat pricey and I can only order it on-line.
For the C3 I have used DRI WASH 'n GUARD since I've owned the car - 9 years now. It's easier to go on/off than Zaino and holds its shine. I don't drive the C3 as much as the C5 so it's hard to compare how long the shines last.
As you're aware the condition of the paint and the prep before hand are big factors in trhe final result.
As many have said, go with what you like.
Mothers has a complete kit (less than $20) I clean my car first, then clay bar it, then a good coat of wax. You should be very pleased with the results. I clay bar my car once a year.
For what it's worth, the absolute slickest, easiest and best wax I have ever used is DURAGLOSS 151. They make several products and are all good but the wax is OUTSTANDING!!! You can get it at a NAPA parts store or check on line for a outlet near you>
I've always used Meguiar's for as long as I can remember, easy on easy off, and no annoying dust. As a matter of fact I just finished applying a coat for an unusal Tueday Night Car Show tommarow.
Don't worry Larry your not alone, I've never used a clay bar either. I think I'm going to try it
soon though
