Anyone got the right answer? wentto my local paint shop & the guy sugested 2 pak to do my front clip ( full of cracks from past owner who must have "touch parked") - now the vette's done in acrylic. Question is should I let the guy do in 2 pak or stick to the original? |headscratch|

Hello Petar,
I am not sure what you are talking about but I am going to give it a shot. I am assuming that you need to get your front clip on your vette repainted, and you are not sure of what you want to do. So here it goes.

The original paint on your vette was a lacquar finish. The two part method or as you refer to it 2 pak is probably the more now commonly used acrylic enamel / clear coat. This is where they put a base coat of enamel paint and then go back and top it off with clear coat. This makes for a real nice paint job and looks real sharp if done right, and would probably be the best choice.

Of course either way you go, since you have a Pace Car you will have to purchase and reapply your decals and pin stripes when your paint job is done.

Are they putting a flex mixture in the paint for your front clip? I forget the real name for it but it prevents the paint from cracking on flexible parts. I had to have the rear bumper on my 2003 Cavalier repainted and the dealer used it on it since it is plastic. |cheers|
