I'm looking for the page number(s) in the assembly manual for the stripe application. Just in case the striper needs it. He's got the book already down there, so hopefully he'll use it. But if I can get the numbers, then I could go mark it while I'm down there tomorrow.

Dar have them check out the following
WPC: OA14 and WPC : OA 15 in the AIM.
That gives the application procedire and wrap around instructions. Hope this helps

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here but do the instructions state anywhere if you should use an application fluid ? by this I mean to prevent bubbles while applying any decals you should wet the adhesive side with a solution of warm soapy water ( 2 drops of mild dish detergent per quart of warm water.) or what they refer to in Sign Shops as Adhering Fluid like RAPID-TAC. This method enables you to pre-position the decal exactly where you need it and will not stick to the surface until you burnish it down with a small plastic squeegee.
I've seen many a decal ruined by not using this method.
Good Luck,
Joe V.

Chris, thanks sweetie! I knew you'd come through for me! |wink| One more thing, could you please post here what it basically says about solution to apply and also the wrap around deal? He was putting them under the, say, wheel well opening, then put the ends together in a point underneath, is this correct???

Joe, thanks for the info, he'll probably need that solution to place the hood stripe and side stripes, the big one's, don't you think?

Thanks you guys for all your help! Should have her back very soon now! Going for early next week I think at this point. Was really hoping for tomorrow, big cruise in Sat night and I'd REALLY like her to be there and be seen!

1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.

Thanks for asking! Glen, the paint looks sooooo good! I can't believe how good! She looks so flat now. Smooth. The pin stripes is what he's doing first. Wheel well opening, fenders and nose are done along with the tops of the doors. What's weird is that she looked very silver without them, now she's taking on the right tones. I was hoping to have her for a Red Line vs. Simi Valley cruise in Sat night, but I'm not thinking so! Well, it's not all a bad thing. I'll get her back in the middle of the week and maybe go out for a nice ride while everyone else is at work! |biggrin|

Jeeeeze, it seems like that shop is really taking forever to get your car back to you. Hope everything turns out absolutely perfect for you. I hate to think how long it will take them to fix a problem considering how long it is taking doing it from scratch.

Hey Glenn, She's turning out way, way cool! The paint is near perfect! Here's the scoop lately....I went to see her a week ago Wed (day before the 4th), then Wed. of this past week and they had done nothing. Not even cleaned her wheels and tires. Then, they got the nerve to tell me that they've got a couple days detailing. He opened the drivers door and I looked inside while he's telling me they cleaned her up some....they put the parts back on that were on the deck! PISSED OFF NOW! I flipped, lost it, blew a gasket totally. I said with a few mild cuss words, why didn't they clean her while they were waiting for Bill F. the striper? The inside looks like by boyfriends 4x4 truck for God's sake! You've done nothing! Where's Bill? (made some excuse), then call the boy....NOW! Then, I find out last night on the phone with my x who's known Bill for years, that he was ready right after the 4th weekend! They wasted 3 whole days when they know I want the car back. Glenn, I'd been an angel up till now. Not saying a word but please hurry up. But now I've had it. I've been there every single day since and will be there again on Monday. He was doing the big stripes when I left Friday so he should be done no problem Monday. He's the best in So Cal, so I'll wait for him to finish and not complain because it's not his fault they didn't call him. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking.........

The only reason I said anything was it seemed that it was taking forever to get your car back. We all get pretty antzy when they are in the shop. Well, anyhow, hope it is everything you want it to be.
