Hey everyone.  It has been quite a while since I have been around. Lately I have been busy with work, twins (boy and girl 16 month olds) and a 3 month old boy.

Anyways,  I am putting my vette in the shop in a week or two for the last bit of work needed. Rear struts, leaf springs need to be fixed and new trailing arms and bearings.

This coming June 5th (it's a saturday) I am having a BBQ at my house in hackettstown, NJ.  It will be a nice early summer BBQ so it wont be too hot outside. I live on a side street in a beautiful part of the town so there is no traffic on it at all for our vettes to be parked along the street. It is a safe environment and area as well. My wife thought this would be the best weekend for it.  So I am inviting all of you to bring your vettes and families as well. A BBQ like lukesvette.  Just a nice day with everybody hanging out having a good time. I have a large backyard and deck and gazebo.  Also, I have a 20 X 40 in ground pool for all to go swimming as well. Bring your kids and wife as mine will be there also and having fun in the sun and pool as well.

I am starting this topic/thread now so I can get an idea of who and how many could come to this. Then we can set up who brings what and all that.

This goes out to the northeast members and any other member that wants to come to this. We welcome all. The more, the merrier.

Let me know what you all think and who would be interested to come. I will keep this topic alive and update it as things progress.

Jeremy

private message me for my address to google/gps my house for directions and time to reach me from where you are.

As it stands now.  I will have burgers and hot dogs.  Please let me know what else you may be able to bring if you are going to be able to come. Salads, dessert , etc.. I will have a cooler here for some beer as well.   I have a canopy set up in my backyard as well as a table and umbrella with separate table and chairs under canopy.

So far it is:
DaveM (yes)   + 1 - Macaroni Salad
80 LS7 + 2
Crazcorkath + 1? - Baked Beans
68400TripowerCoupe + 1 - Chips and Pretzels
Me (Movie Collector) and family - Burgers, Hotdogs, Buns, Bud Light, Diet Coke, Coke

Ok so it is getting closer.  About 2 weeks to go. I need to know what everyone is bringing. I will have the burgers and hot dogs and buns.  I will have Budd Light in a cooler as well.  I will also have diet coke and regular coke cans too.

Private Message me for my address for you to get directions to.

The BBQ will start about 12-1pm. Come when you can. If you show up earlier that is fine too.

Thanks Jeremy, sounds great, I'm in. I'll let you know about the wife since she's going to France for a wedding in the end of May and I'm not sure when she comes home.

No problem. It is a couple of months away but I wanted to get a feel for anyone that would want to pass by.   I am still having a BBQ that day with or without. I love my new house and the big pool and all.  The street we are on is not a busy one. It is a side of a side street type of thing. Beutiful neighborhood and families and such. Tons of on street parking like Paul's if you ever been to his BBQ that he has.

I will try to find a vette event to go to or cruise night if you are all interested in doing that in the evening since it will be a saturday night and all.   My town has hotels as well if you are from afar and want to stay over.

Heck.  If EBO might get there then Patricia says she's gonna try to as well.  Of course, I will have to tag along as chauffeur, door opener, bottle opener (and embiber), and food taste consultant.

Main Post updated.

Everybody remember I am posting this BBQ topic a little over two months in advance. I don't expect everyone to know what they are doing, just if you think you can come and what you can bring if you do. Please let us know. When it is definite, I will take the (maybe) down by your name. Also let me know if you are bring your friend/spouse/whomever and any kids.

Would love to be there to meet some new folks, everybody on here sounds like real nice people...but....that is race weekend at Pocono and I work there the 2 race weekends a year. I'm on the Pre-race staff up there.
BTW...thanks for the comment on seat belt retractors....not much encouragement to try to handle myself, most likely will bite the bullet and buy new ones.

So I need an update on who exactly will be coming to this. I want to make sure this will work or if I have to do it later on in the year instead. Don't get me wrong, we are opening our pool next week and getting everything ready. My vette is due to be out of the shop and ready for whatever by the time this comes around. I just a need a positive head count for drinks and food and everything else. Other than DaveM I just have a hand full of maybes.

Well, I am going to commit to coming.  Patricia says so, too.  I am guessing Hackettstown is somewhere in NAWTH Jersey.  Usins from SOUTH Jersey gonna have to push our way through the corn fields and hay fields, but we are a persistent lot.

Hey Harry, you guys are welcome to stay over at our house, we are in the next town from Jeremy.

That way you don't have to leave early to make the 2.5 hr. trip back. Sounds like fun, we just need to scare up some more people.

Adam,
can you send this out to all the people in the tri-state/east coast, not sure how you would do that so they know of it?  Just didn't want to sit here and send out multiple PMs to everyone down the list etc...

Ok. NOW while we wait and see who else is coming we also need to figure out if anybody can bring anything as far as food, drink, dessert, snacks etc...

If you have any requests as far as what we could do besides swim and eat feel free to suggest ideas.  Unfortuneately Hackettstown doesn't have a cruise night on Saturdays or a near by car show. The closest cruise night for Saturday is the Chatterbox and that is a 45 minute drive one way. I don't think anyone wants to do that.
Dave is familiar with the roads in the area and there are tons of roads we could take a small cruise on and end up at a ice cream stand or something...

Post updated.  I need to know what everyone is willing to bring. I will have burgers, hotdogs, buns, budd light, diet coke and coke available.

I also got my pool up and running nice and clear. water was 72 degrees yesterday.  Make sure to bring a towel or two and a swim suit if you want to go in.  My pool is a 20 x 40 and at its deepest it is almost 9 feet deep. So have fun.

The BBQ will start about 12-1pm. Come when you can. If you show up earlier that is fine too.

Hey Jeremy. Sorry that I'm not able to make it. Hope everyone has a great time.
Finally got the car back on the road and aching to take a trip.
Too bad the charcoal will be cold on Sunday. Maybe I'll be able to make the next one.

Hi Jeremy,
Looks like the wife Carole and I can make it.  Thanks for putting on this super event for the local tri-state C3VR's.  Enjoyed the Round Valley meeting! We can bring some chips and pretzels if thats good.  Let me know?  I know some of Hackettstown as I work for State Div of Fish & Wildlife and visit the hatchery a few times a year.  Let me know how close you are to the hatchery?  Take care and see you June 5.

Jeremy,

I'd love to go but I can't. The list of reasons why is so long, I won't go in to it.

It looks like there will be good attendance. Have a good one.

Kevin

Well.  This is it. less than a week to go for the BBQ.  I have been following the weather on weather.com.  My zip code is 07840 if you want to watch it as well.  It currently says 20% chance of rain, sunny and 86 degrees. Friday and Sunday are calling for rain but not Saturday. Keep our fingers crossed as I do not have a rain date for this BBQ.

The weather doesnt look so good.  If you dont want to come, I understand.  I got the burgers and hot dogs and buns, coors lite and corona beer, cheese, ketchup, mustard, relish but if no one shows its ok, we will use them up or freeze them so no harm done.  If you dont want to bring your vette that is fine too.  It looks like it is on and off rain today with thunderstorms. If you dont want to come or would rather do this some other day when weather is better just let me know.  Pool is ready too if anyone wants to jump in today too.  Either way I will be home.  If you all want to take a cruise, my vette is ready. My garage door is open with my vette inside. It is visible from the road. I have the yellow house if you are looking for it.  Let me know what you want to do.
