This one is going to take me some time. Right now, I think it's overdone and rather ugly. Time will tell. Dissapointed they're calling it a Stingray.

I'm in the LOVE IT crowd, too.  First time a new 'Vette has ever been on my "lottery list" (cars I'd go out and buy if I won).  Love that color, too.

Homerun! Now to start digesting all the changes going on under under that pretty new shark skin. It appears to be a 100% new in all areas, from the suck bang blow pieces to the whoa nellie belle.

I can see me in one of these in a few years for sure. Clap

Yahoo has posted a series of pix of the new C7 Corvette that shows a lot of close-ups of the interior and exterior.  It looks like they finally got back to the coke bottle style body side panels like the C3 had, for the new Stingray. Clap About time!! Thumbs Up You can check them out here by clicking on the C7 picture.

I like it overall - though to me the rear end is a tale of two rears.... I love the hatch design, but the rear bumper, and especially the taillights, do nothing for me - looks like a Camaro. I'm assuming they were going for commonality, but for me it doesn't work. Maybe it will grow on me. I'm also thinking the A pillars should be red, but I'm not 100% on that. The interior looks good - need to see it in person and feel the materials. Overall, very well done. Maybe someone will make aftermarket tail lights...

It has gone totally European in style as far as I'm concerned. In my opinion it has completely lost the look of Motor City Muscle. It may be my age, but as I see it all of the newer produced muscle cars such as the Camero, Charger, Mustang, etc. have all still kept that American body style look. With that said, as far as European style cars go its one bad-azz ride!! Should compete very well with the Ferrari, Porsche and so on. The only thing I would have liked to see is round tail lights as opposed to using the Camero look.

Been studying it some more. The overall shape is good. I like how the front fenders rise up C3 style. Ditch the hood vent; it looks stupid. I know it has a purpose but it still looks stupid. The side vents are twice the size they should have been. I don't like the rear quarter windows; probably useless anyway for lane changes. I like the rear window. But that backend is way too busy...too many contours. And the tail lights should have been round.

Oh, and the crossed flags look like they came off of a Firebird.

And so it begins....the all-too familiar tradition of nit-pickin the heck out of the latest/greatest Corvette. It started with the '56, and carries on today. LOL
I agree that the butt-end is a bit too busy, BUT(no pun intended), I believe that in different colors, the effect will be much mo pleasing. Even the side 1/4 window looks much mo betta on the silver car than the red one.
I wanna get ahold of one up close and personal, and see how the inside fits my backside, since that is what I absolutely HATE about the C5/6 cars...I just don't fit in them.
Overall, I think GM did the Corvette community proud on this one. I dint get excited over the C5, and the C6 was only marginally better. THIS one, however, makes me all giddy....Hug

Well,

I wouldn't kick my C3 out of the garage.... But the Explorer would be out in the Desert.

It is kinda fun from the front and down right evil from the rear... I like it.

The new Singray is the best looking Camero or Pontiac Aztec to date.

Can't say I am of fan yet.

The rear was clearly was taken directly off the Camero as well as the rear half side profile looks Camero-ish, but the from front looks Vette-ish.

Ahhhh change... I used to like change.....then I changed.
All purist hate change . When the sharks came out in 68 they were hated! People beat them into the ground, now they are rare because of that. I still do not like the C4, just me....
If you read why the changes were made it may help...maybe not. Camaro is selling like crazy, Vette not so much...sales continue to drop. Babyboomers are still the largest % of owners. The young people do not even consider a vette because it's a "Old Man's" car.
If they are to save the Vette and continue to invest engineering dollars in todays car market it needs to be styled for the Gen X&Y.
So lets see how it fair's....will it go the way of the T-bird.
Ford has great market in the Stang, Chevy has great market in the Camaro.
This has all been documented, and the debate will go on for years as always...because we all love our vette's!

I'll always have my C3's ....but I'd love to have one of these Gen 10 rides
Just sayin.....

I think the main reason the generation(s) younger than the Baby Boomers don't buy new Vettes is because they can't afford them!  At $60k, that's out of the reach of MANY people!  I would love a C7! Can I afford one, hell no! Can I afford a C6? Maybe a well used 2005.
Can I afford a Camaro, probably.  (But I doubt my wife would approve unless I replaced my Pathfinder with it).

Unless when I get to be 50 or 60 and somehow am making lots of money or managed to save a lot by then, I don't see owning a brand new Vette, ever.

Bingo! You nailed it, that's what I did - always wanted a new Vette, so when the tuition bills stopped, I bought one. Will I ever buy another new one? Probably not, but a nice used C7 is currently in my plans when I hit 70! (5 years, 3 months and 27 days, but who's counting?)
Thumbs Up

Well before I say which way I feel about this "new Vette", let me say 7 years ago I was not a fan of any vette and now I feel I cant go a day without looking at pics of them or sitting in one. I am a fan of them up thru the c3's but then not a fan of the c4's. The C5's and 6's i am starting to like more every day. Now as for this new C7, the charcoal or gray looks better to me then the red (sorry Joel). But even that color doesnt make me feel good about the new design. It looks like a "batmobile" to me just as the camaros do. The interior is to busy with stuff. I am sure that sitting in it might change my mind about the interior, but it just looks like to much happening in it. In all fairness, change is a good thing, but it usually takes a while until it grows on us old timers. As for now I think I'm going to go sit in my C3, lean back in the seat, close my eyes and thank the good lord for allowing me to own one of the best generations of corvettes on the earth!

He figured it would be worth way more than that............one day. Unfortunately not in his life time. He's got propably the largest collection of Vettes.

Ebo, you are right on. I had a 64 fastback, a 65 396/425 vert, and a 66 427/450 vert. When the 68 came out I hated it. Everyone would ask me my thoughts, do to me being a freak on C2's, what I said was "too much extra weight all in the front, losing handling characteristics, too goodied up just to attract doctors and lawyers and they look like C2's that were left in the sun too long, and got distorted." I felt that Chevy was trying to turn a sports car into a personal luxury car for the  professional market. That's sort of what happened and the "waves" disappeared. A whole different breed of owners.
Then in 74 with the no bumper front and rear......I fell in love with the C3Heart
