* GPS isn't a necessity when your traveling companion knows the landscape according to drinking establishments....

* Travel time can be most interesting if you swap partners right out of the chute.....

* RV's pulling trailers who cut you off on the interstate recognize hand signals much faster when it is accompanied by moans of disbelief and angry facial gestures from the near miss vehicle....

* Soft spoken quite women talking about cheese should be watched very closely......

* It has become brutally apparent that medians are becoming taller and our legs must be getting shorter.....

* No matter how hard you try it is impossible to stay together as a group while cruising if the other lane doesn't respect that vettes have the right away.....

* When asked to recite after me anything about Fig Pluckers you should always answer NO!

* When attempting describe Peter Pan it is best not to relate the sir name to any body parts......

* Women like to help wash vettes but sometimes have difficulty turning on the water.....

* Writing notes is much better with a pen the has written on it: " I own a fast corvette So drive it like I stole it ... Smokin tires and Hot women,,,, can't get any better!"

* Annual fathers day presents are much better when coupled with a great birthday gift....

* Hand signals won't help push a PT Cruiser through a yellow light when the driver can't breath....

* Women make some of the best aeronautical designs...

* Bird Poop is a common hatred among vette owners much lick it is to those who hang laundry on the line....

* Limbo can only be played with a willing party and someone holding the stick.....

* What in Gods name is a SIZEOMETER?????

* Anniversary corvettes stay cleaner if driven with the car cover on them....

* Marilyn and Karen are spelled exactly the same???

* There are no birds in China....

* Horse trailers are more accommodating for overnight stays than vette interiors under the car cover....

* In every Vette event the should be accommodating parking for Honda's & PT Cruisers.....

* Zora Huston and the Chinaberry Tree is a great book!!!

On the way home we found out that:

The GPS doesn't tell you whether the road is pavement or gravel.

Some gravel roads are covered in oil.

When you are in Amish country, "road apples" are hard to avoid.

I learned this in the parking lot outside the motel:
No matter what, the dipstick is ALWAYS on the drivers' side of the car...

and..I learned this at the intersection of Indiana Route 1 and US 35 coming home:

No matter WHAT you're driving, you can't do 75 in a 55....(real picture, we had to grab the camera, turn around, and take the picture 'cause I'm sure no one would believe it without photo evidence)...I hope the image link turns out OK...

I learned that when cruising with a bunch of Corvettes in a Honda that it is impossible to pedal fast enough to keep up.
I learned that you can't use the words sizeometer, peter pan and limbo in the same sentence.
I learned that anything you say can and will be used against you A LOT.
I learned that a bunch of "Boomers" can act like kids for a whole weekend and not feel guilty about it.
I learned that "SOS" tastes better when it is not served on a stainless steel tray.
I learned how hard it is to "head home" and how much we miss our friends.
Looking forward to the next time. Great time and thanks for the memories.

I learned that when cruising never follow a Red Chromie
epically when the driver of such chromie is also a Chromie

I learned that when DaveW goes jogging he should never chew gum at the same time

I learned that Indy99 is actually from Monroe Michigan

I learned that if you wanna cheer up an old man just call him and sing happy birthday

I learned that people from C3VR can't sing

I learned that Tux really does wear a Tux

I learned that Lora and Jill love peanut butter ( Peter Pan)

I learned that if you want a peaceful weekend you need to separate Butch and Jani right out of the gate

I learned that C3VR has its own personal Hugh Hefner.

I learned that Levitra can not only give you a blue tongue, but also a halo that looks a lot like an Indian Headdress

I learned that Janie loves to cook with a 9" pan

I learned (from Janie) that a 9" pan may not be what it appears to be

I learned that Limbo is good for your gall bladder, which is right below your heart under you kidneys

I learned that C3VR people are the greatest in the world and really hard to say goodbye to

I learned while leading a bunch of Corvettes ... I can't never be sure if I still have everybody , including my WIFE!

I learned that everybody here...IS...exactly the same in person!

I learned everyone that came is the most easy going and open minded bunch I have ever met!

I learned when driving through two round-a-abouts in a row to floor it!

I learned not to leave my son in an idling Vette in Amish Country or the flies will drive him Crazy!

I learned that sometimes it is best not to lock your Vette!

I learned that I could lose my Wife again a couple miles from home!
( Don't worry she keeps coming back.)

I learned with the right group of people anything can be fun!

I learned that I could get a rash, instantly.
I learned when you go on a cruise you better keep your eye on the leader.
I learned that cheese is bad for your veins.
I learned that if you have your own steel company, you can own as many Vettes as you want.
I learned that there are a lot of over-priced Vettes in one building and I can't afford any of them.
I learned that all Amish folks wave to Vettes. And everyone else.
I too am looking forward to the next get toghther. This weekend. In NHBig%20smileClapThumbs%20UpHug

Bob,
I showed you my dip stick is on the PASSENGER side.

And great picture. Well worth coming back for.

As for speedometers pegged at 85, you can include mine for most of the trip home. Saved me at least 1/2 hour. And I beat the rain for the most part.Big%20smile

Yeah Dave,
But I was ASSURED no matter where the dipstick was physically on the engine, it was ALWAYS on the drivers' side..
Glad to see you made it back without much wet stuff...great to see you again!

Mike,
Thanks for fixing my inability to post pictures...I wonder if ignorance is genetic or just inherited....

I've got the "posting pictures on C3VR with PhotoBucket" di-rections that I'll try and use to post some great shots of everyone by their cars at the birthday party...well, almost everybody...the only person I got by the PT Cruiser I think was someone trying to let the air out of the tires...

I personally want to give Donna & Jim a GREAT BIG THANK YOU for the birthday cake for everyone. Even tho it was delivered in a HONDAAAAA it was still darn good and such a big surprise!! I want all of you to know that a lot of people pay an awful lot of good money for this kind of amusement. So Tux, go ahead and send all the gag gifts you want my way (30 hours and still going strong!). It's nice to be more popular than most of our politicians. Thanks to everyone for making this a spectacular week-end. You just can't get enough of this kind of fun. Had to park the Vette and get on a hot tractor and cut hay all day Monday, then raked and baled today. Forgot I didn't have 6 speeds?! Terry, hope you're practicing "Catch Phrase" for the next cruise-in!! See you in the pits.  Butch

I'm not a fig plucker nor a fig pluckers son, but I'll pluck the figs till the fig plucker comes.

I know a row of ten of these tongue twisters we used as a drinking game man that was a long time ago.

SIZE-O-METER:  Size; as in TO GAUGE, to measure, distance and girth
"O"; as in surprise,  as in  startling METER; as in to add up, to feed, a unit of measure.

SIZE O METER- a unit of measure that you feed to gauge its girth and size which makes one scream in startling surprise "O"

Believe it or not

If you think that fig plucker was bad, you should have been around when a bunch of us guys were discussing the proper procudure of doing the laundry. We could all agree on how to restore a Vette, but could not agree on how to do the wash. Go figure.

Butch, we appreciate you kindness about the birthday cake, but we can not take the credit for it. It was someone else's idea. The Honda was for delivery purposes only. (Comes in handy once in awhile, don't it)

Hey Jim,
Isn't that what Red Green says, "If the girls can't find you good looking, at least they can find you handy"?
The birthday party was such a great team effort..and a real surprize!

Thanks Larry but that's not the way I recited that poem at The Cruise-in, (and I was stone cold sober). I would show you but this is a family site.LOL

Also if I would have had you and your size-o-meter definition there with me , it wouldn't have taken so long for all those "Ding Dongs" to guess it in a game of Catch Phrase.Confused
