As usual, I'm sure it is just me, but has anyone else been getting this error message? This is happening more and more every day for me. I do show to be logged in on both the left AND right side of the page. I'm getting these same messages when responding to a post in a thread, and once when sending a P/M. I have had to resort to "copying/pasting" my posts again, but I still sometimes forget. If it is a long winded post, and I didn't copy before hitting "Post", I just quit...

And, just for sts and grins, it just happened AGAIN when I tried to post THIS message...Wits End

Now ain't that kinda funny..... Sum dude called APPLE talkin bout BITES.......

At any rate... yep fer sure I have seen it.... Adam told me once in a time oh not so long ago that this was due to the message timing out. (Basicly suggesting I took to long in writing the message.) He offered some options that he could do but I don' think they were user friendly for the registry as a whole as i remember.

So my fair weather Texas friend..... either step up da pace a lil wit dem fangerz o yers or continue to copy / paste.....

Heaven forbid yer dial up bodderz ya during dis same time....

It has happened to me.  It does seem to be a timing issue.  I have logged out logged back in then typed the same message "Faster this time" and it took ok.  Other times i have just given up.

"A security error has occurred with authentication."
This indicates to ME that there is an issue with the site...not my typing speed. I also get this same message with just a two word reply...the length of the post has nothing to do with it, at least for me. This issue is NOT happening at the C4VR site that I am aware of...just here.
I can remember the "Session Timed Out" messages...Adam did increase the time allowed on a post before it would log you out...I am not having that problem....

If anyone is getting an Error message like this please copy it, and paste it here, so we can see if everyone is getting the exact same message, of if some folks are having different issues. Mine are all exactly the same.
I realize Adam is busy with other projects right now, so it's not a major thing. I just wanted to know if it was more wide-spread than just me.
This issue is NOT happening at the C4VR site that I am aware of...
Of course, as soon as I posted this here, I got the same message at C4VR when attempting a post... Angry

Hey gang.

I see there is obviously a problem affecting many of you. This does in fact "bite."
Unfortunately, I can not duplicate the problem on my end, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. This makes it VERY hard to find the cause and ultimately fix the issue.
When CFAC is over, I will try to find a solution.  Perhaps there is an update to the forum forum software that will help if installed.  The problem with installing the updates is it takes me many hours because of all the custom changes I have to re-make to it.

It would also help if I knew what browser and version you are using.

So, in summary, I am aware there is a problem, and I will work to fix it as soon as I have time.
Thanks for your patience.

Ok..I see Adam(I guess) has added some info to this "Access Denied" warning. I JUST got it while editing a post of mine. It showed me to be logged("Logout") in on both left and right side of the page. I opened another window, and it showed my edited message had been posted anyway, even tho I got the warning.Wits End

I know there are still issues with login here.  I have done everything I can think of. I'm investigating new software.  Of course, my biggest challenge is finding the time to do it.
Also, C3VR consists of two main areas, the forums, and EVERYTHING else.  The forum part is actually pretty easy to replace...it is everything else that is the hard part.  Being able to integrate the other areas with the forums is difficult.  It may come down to there will be two areas to log into, but I want to avoid that if possible.
Believe me, as soon as I have something to show you guys, I will.
Thanks for your patience.

Adam...is there a chance that this is an issue with Windows 7 & Firefox? I don't remember having this particular "Access Denied" issue before with my old computer(Windows XP/Firefox). I have the latest Firefox available, as it updates automatically now.
It seems to happen more often for me(or at least I notice it more) when I have more than one window/tab open, and I'm going back & forth between all of them, along with posting something here. It always shows me to be logged in.
Don't know if any of that makes any difference...

Joel,

I'm not sure if the OS would have an effect as much as the browser, or what you're doing in the browser.  I'd say the multiple-tabs/windows could confuse the site and cause it to lose track of your session.  Each browser causes a new session to open and I could see how that would mess it up.  I would suggest you stay within one browser window and you'll be likely to have less (perhaps no) trouble.

If you must use more than one, I'd suggest trying one Firefox and one IE or Chrome window.  It may an easier time keeping track of two sessions if they are coming from two different browsers.

I'll give that a shot for a few days and see what happens. I do know that this issues is NOT consistent enough for me to determine what I am doing at that particular time.Confused

I thought I would bring this computer issue to a friend of mine. His day job is carpenter, however he has started a side job as computer tech. He said with the proper tool this glitch can be easily removed. Actually this tool can be found at any hardware store, and you will find it very helpful in removing issues with modern appliances, autos, and pesty cats.
I thought I would post an illustration of the proper way to use this handy tool.
Hope this helps, "T"

This tool has worked wonders for me in the past....guaran-TEED to fix a hard drive issue...

I know I am not the only one that has had the "Access Denied" issue....we just gotta figure out what the common denominator is....

Not sure what our plans will be.  Am trying to sell my Cape May house and tentatively plan to move up to yer neck of the woods where I have my small mountain home.  Everything spinning at the moment.  Retired in 08, got son through medical school, housing market crashed, and here we sit. Keeping this house with a retiree income is very trying, to say the least.  More to follow.

I guess this fits the topic, THIS BITES.  Come on up, stay in the great north east. You are the closest C3er in the area. Wish you well in the sale. What about the Texas stint? Keep us in the loop, and try to attend the May festivities.

We would LOVE to make it to the May event.  Just depends on what gives between now and then.  We will be part timers in the Poconox.  Summer there, winter in Texas.  I think.  Maybe.  We hope.
