I would LUV to be able to race either of the Vettes...but...''Rosie'' is not set up for it...too many things could break and don't want that to happen Since I have spend so much on her the past 2 years with all the Mods....and the C4..well technically it is Hubby's and I really don't want to break that one! |biggrin|

I take my vettes out a few times a year bracket racing with the local corvette clubs on their corvettes only days they rent out the local dragstrips. It's a blast. I'm in the slow poke division, but in brackets that doesn't matter. I managed to win the Women's eliminations two years in a row and still hold the Top Eliminator Title from 2 years ago at Vintage Thunder. This year we got lightning stormed out before they ran the Top Elims, so I get to keep the title for another year since nobody got the chance to take it from me. :D My '70 is totally stock. My '87 is my daily driver. I took it to the track once to see what he would do for fun, but with almost 140k miles I'd rather not tempt the devil with it. |devil| ~Juliet

Bracket racing is a lot of fun. I raced my 02 Monte Carlo at the Super Chevy Show last year. Made it into the third round of eliminations, so had a great time. Our track out here in Phoenix has Sport Compact Night on Thursday nights, so I race my 02 Cavalier our there. It's a blast and actually my Cavalier is faster than the Monte Carlo was (heehee). I haven't raced the Vette yet since I just got her and want to get her thoroughly checked out. I do however want to see what "Veronica" will do in the quarter mile. |smile|

I'll post the complete list of pictures when it is completed. It's not an original color, (citrus green metallic with added gold pearl) originally a '76 L82 4 speed car. It had been beat to death, and had lots of accumulating problems due to rust, poor maintanence, etc. We didn't want to go the total stock restoration route, (been there, done that before with a '67 Camaro RS convertible) It can be very painful to spend $25K to end up with a $15K car.
Work completed so far:
1. 454 engine built and ready for installation
2. S-T-10 rebuilt ready to go in.
3. New F41 rate springs all around
4. All urethane suspension bushings and mounts
5. New calipers, rotors, pads, lines and master cylinder
6. New tie rod ends, ball joints
7. Rebuilt control valve, slave cylinder, and steering hoses
8. New radiator core support
9. new 4-row radiator
10. Paint, emplems, lamps and lenses replaced

left to do:

Rebuild A/C system
restore interior
new weatherstrip
install engine and tranny
fabricate sidepipes, (have fiberglass covers ready)

Hubby has been working on this for about 6 months, another 2 or 3 and I'll be burning up the streets.

(we ran the engine specs through Desktop Dyno, should make 480 HP, 510 ft lb.) Total street monster! |thumb| |thumb|
