Now I see why the price is so high....it's a coupe with a trunk. Don't believe it? Here's his quote. In the trunk, you will find a correct original jack, original jack hardware and spare.  LOL

Prolly my old eyes, but those pictures looked like the paint was Blue, not Glen Green.  Course, everyone knows I always loved Blue, so I may be wrong and seeing as I would want it.  Also, I never have seen the Glen Green, so don't know what the shade is.

Ok, Bowling green - error
Trunk - figment of speech
100k car - Yes it is, its a super rare car and the condition warrents the money. Might be slow in this economy but this is a high dollar car
Hood is correct
Braids - I think he meant braided wires
The only thing I think I see is an incorrect aircleaner system (I cant tell if its chrome or matte) and im not sure if the valve covers should be chrome. The oil fill is definately not supposed to be black.

Actaully this looks like a nice car with a few faux pas in the verbiage. Car seems pretty ok but not bloomington

Yep...this is true...most of the stuff is more than likely just a greenhorn salesman's description. But...would you want to spend that kind of $$$ with someone that silly?
I agree, it's a super nice car, and prolly worth the cash...

Keep looking...you're almost there!

Don't think they offered the M21 tranny as an option.  Only M20 and M22 for MT.

Got me on the rest (except 'trunk' and 'Bowling Green.')

Hood is correct for L78. Trim and color codes are correct. It is indeed Glen Green, not blue. IF is correct motor.

I'm not sure about this but I think the original 396 had the dual snorkel breather.

cross flags on the nose and gas cap do not match the ones on the fenders.
black and white check flag should have a white square on the top right. the fenders do but the nose and gas cap have a black one.

Bob, I can't believe you noticed that. It proves that you were checking it close with your eagle eyes. LOL

As usual, I could be wrong but I believe the emblems are correct. The nose emblem (cross flags) and the gas door emblem should match but for reasons unknown to me, the fender emblems have always been different from the front and rear emblems. Years 1957 thru 1960 did have the side emblems with the black square on the top right hand corner. The 1961 had no cross flags on the fender and in 1962 the fender emblem was changed from  black to white  on the top right hand square.

I hope Joel will correct me if I'm wrong coz my memory isn't what it used to be. Dead

Actually...the emblems ARE correct for a '65. The 66/7 emblems DID have the black upper left square on the front/fuel emblem flags.
However....this was not one of the things in question....but good eye there, Bob!

Otay, here's the major goofs I found:

Bowling Green assembly....NOT!

Jack and stuff stored in the "trunk" Really?

"Firestone Deluxe Champion Goldline tires"?? I'mma thinkin NOT...

"Fog lamps"? HUH?

"Correct bolt on wheels"?   UH...maybe so, but the pics show the optional knock-off wheels....

How about the "Tilt steering column"? In a Mid-Year? I don tink so...they were, however, adjustable fwd/aft aboot 3", but it was/is a big pita to do.

Now, as to the location of the battery...I believe all the small blocks had them on the pass side, and certain big blocks too. I looked at several pics of original and restored big blocks, from '65-'67, and saw the batt on either side. Don't remember fer sure what the criteria was for locating it on one side or the other...might have to do some research on that...

As to the trans...the big block in '65 only used the close ratio, M21 4 speed...(the wide ratio was M20. The M22 wasn't even born at that time)

The air cleaner is correct, in a "matte" black, not chrome.
The oil filler cap is definitely not supposed to be black...it should be painted orange with the valve covers.

And yes, I'm sure they meant "braided plug wires" not braided hoses...

Are we nit-pickin? Heck yeah! Fer $100,000+? You betcha!
If ya cain't word an ad correctly to sell a high-end car like this, you don't deserve the commission on the sale...imho

Now...wasn't this FUN? Adams' Apple2008-12-09 20:39:50

I watched a really nice 74 454 4-speed Convertible (not many of those out there) on auction for a while.  It was FAR overpriced and while it was very nice, it had some non-originality issues.  After the auction eneded and it didn't sell, I sent the guy a nice note giving some suggestions.  Never heard from him.  Don't know if he thought I was a jerk, or he just didn't care.

It just seemed a shame that the car was so close to being what it could have been.  I think if he changed a few things, he could have been at least closer to his asking price.
