Let's keep this thread dedicated to information on the gathering.  Any 'chit-chat' regarding the planning should be added to this thread or others like it.

Looks like I'll have to make a game-time decision.  If it is going to rain most of the time, I'm bringing my SUV.  I'm not dealing with water leaks on the highway, a wet rug, and mold.

Headed out from home in less than an hour.  The forecast for I-70 (essentially all of today) is for thunderstorms.  Wish us luck in dodging the rain - it's been so long, I think I forogt how to put the top up!!LOL

Hey,
Not to rain on your parade Big smile but I checked the AOL long range forecast and saw little or no chance for rain on Wednesday and Friday in Mystic. Let's see what happens for Saturday.
Change the oil, give it your last onceover and have a safe trip!

Can't be any worse than that Sunday! Needed a rack & pinion rudder that day! I think I'll pick up new blades myself to be on the safe side. This will be the shortest drive yet to a gathering for me.
See everyone Wed.

While it was about as dark as I've ever seen it in the day without raining, we went with the top down much of the morning.  We did have the top up for two stints - it seems putting the top up scares away the rain.  The last time we had to put it up, we pulled over on the side of the road for an emergency put up.  It rained on us for 2 miles after that, till we pulled into a PA Turnpike Oasis.  Stayed for about 20 minutes or so and the sky was the clearest it had been all day and stayed that way.

Saw Carlisle fairgrounds and Three Mile Island power plant (it is still in operation!!) from the road.  Only real tourist stop was at Hershey, PA toward the end of the day.

Over 500 miles yesterday.  Shorter day today.  Wish us luck navigating the Vette in NEW YORK CITY!!!  Yes, I know.  I've been warned.  I am taking precautions.  Watch for us on Regis and Kelly Tuesday morning - we've got tickets.  Hope to see the Statue of Liberty and a few other sites while we're there.
It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase!
