ONLY CAST A VOTE IF YOU WOULD ATTEND THE GATHERING IF YOUR LOCATION CHOICE IS SELECTED!

A date will not be selected until a location is selected, so I know it's hard to say if you could go or not. But, vote for a location that you would MOST like to attend if the dates wind up fitting into your schedule.

As per our gathering map, we will be in the WEST for 2016. Hence the choices in this survey.
https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?hl=en&authuser=0&mid=zopZSDQUea9c.kwiEKCMISb0M

Question: Where would you like the 2016 gathering to be held?

Click one of the following choices to submit your response. (NOTE: Be sure to select the correct response, once you make your selection you can not change it!)

1. Salt Lake City, UT
2. Yellowstone National Park, WY
3. Glacier National Park, MT
4. Las Vegas, NV
5. Arizona (Phoenix or Tucson)
6. Washington State (Seattle or Tacoma)
7. Idaho (City TBD)
8. New Mexico (Albuquerque, Santa Fe or Taos)
9. California (San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles)

See the current results of this survey

I voted Seattle just because my buddy Sarge wants to head back there, and he'll whine if he doesn't get his way.

Me, I'll whine no matter if I get my way or not.

   How much Dave?CoolWink

Linda and I do not care where it is held out West, preferably not in the BIG cities (L.A., Frisco, Portland, ect.) We are going West next summer to see family (unless we have to go before then, I have elderly family members out there, an earlier trip might interfere with us attending the C3VR gathering). So we won't vote for a location because we are planning on attending no matter where it's heldThumbs UpThumbs Up

Pacific NW, of course, works for us. But I second the thought that it not be IN a big city. There are several smallish burgs along the I5 corridor that would be a great start/end to some fantastic drives. Mt Hood/Hood River, Mt. St. Helens, Olympic Peninsula, Oregon Coast, etc. Mike

Tacoma does have the Lemay Museum. https://www.americascarmuseum.org At the Carson City/Tahoe gathering the people at the Harrah's Car Museum tried to tell us theirs was the largest in the nation, not true. The Lemay collection is the largest privately owned car collection in the US. And, they have two locations we could visit.

Most of you have never heard of Humboldt State Redwood Park???

Some of the most spectacular redwoods of California, Oregon & Washington...

The home of the tallest trees in the world. 380+ feet tall. So tall that they create their own weather!

This is part of Northern California that most tourist don't see. There are hundreds of other stops all over No-Cal. 49er Trail... the road today that was the pack trail of the gold rush in 1849. This is just north of the State Capitol of Sacramento. The route 49 is like the route 66 of the 1850-1930's.

If you decide on Seattle/Tacoma... I suggest that you travel all the way up route 101 & route 1 of California, Oregon & Washington for some of the most spectacular scenery and small fishing/resort towns that love cars.

Great places along the way like Mendocino, CA., Brooking, OR., Coos Bay, OR., Astoria, OR., Aberdeen, WA... Light houses, Great Bed & Breakfast Inns, Food like no other place in the country. Not to mention that you turn towards Olympia, WA on the way home where major superhighways connect NSEW. My advice is to return thru the Mt. Rainer National Park to Yakima, WA. Or head S to Portland, OR then up the Hood River going east. Maybe stop in Walla Walla, WA... Saffron Mediterranean Kitchen is great for dinner.

Good luck,

No no no no no...hopefully yes.

My brother lives in San Fran. Always go to Napa for lunch or dinner and Muir woods for that moment of zen.  Wherever the gathering happens to be I'll have to get some advice from you on which route to take. Right now I'm including San Francisco, Seattle, Ozette Wa., Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Las Vegas for starters.

+1 on staying out the big cities if we do PNW, Seattle is a great place to visit via train or ferry but not with a bunch of Corvettes. I live in Gig Harbor which is right across the Narrows Bridge from Tacoma. It is close to many great places but still has a small town feel. My wife and I would gladly help out if the event comes this way. Perhaps some of the guys who live in Seattle have a different opinion and could provide their recommendations.

John, Glacier and Yellowstone are great stops if your coming out west for the gathering !! Not sure what kind of dates we're looking at but Yellowstone can be very crowded and hot during the peak summer months, but still woth going. Glazier NP is amazing but can be the wild card depending on the time of the year. Going to the Sun Road is always pretty crowded when it's open, the key word is when it's open. A couple years before they put up the web cam we came out to the west entrance of the park and found it closed due to avalanche/snowfall and that was the third week in June !! Very hard to image that kind of snowpack in June when it's 90 degrees everywhere else. It just depends on how much snow they get during the winter. Great place to visit, just keep an eye on the park's website before you go all the way up there.

I agree with NOT in a city. Always a pain getting around with a bunch of cars and can be really hectic.

44 out of 860 members have voted. That's worse than our last Village vote for dog catcher!Cry
Surely there must be others who want to have a say in where they want to travel for our gathering.
You have 2 weeks to make up your mind.
BTW, if you vote for CA you will make me happy.Big smile

Well, I wanted to attend this year's Gathering but our trip to Aruba with family won out. So it didn't matter which location I voted for because I've never been to any of them. I chose Arizona though.

Well Seattle/Tacoma works for me - only 2.5 hours by Vette!  Smile

I think Tacoma would be preferable over Seattle.  Lots of museums, including LeMay and museum of Glass (Chihuley).  My wife and I had a weekend up there a year and a half ago to see both of those.  LeMay had a 'Vette exhibit going on at the time - fantastic.  Tacoma also has better access to Mt. Rainier - lots of good drives in that area.

If a small town is desired, I'd suggest Packwood, WA, on US 12 between Chehalis and Yakima.  They have a number of large events every year, including a big rod run - able to handle an influx of "car types".   Also it's a great gateway to Mt. Rainier National Park and a pretty easy drive to the Yakima Valley if folks were interested in wine tasting.

Dave, I think you and Vman (and maybe Cilrah Mark)should be the point men for this...... could always go to Forks to see some Vampires.....
I agree the Tacoma area would be awesome and Gig Harbor of course!

Hey Ebo, very nice of you to throw them under the bus...er, I mean to honor them by suggesting they set the whole shebang up. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Seriously, if you do get tagged, it is worth the little bit of angst that comes with it. Everyone on here makes it easy and worth the effort...except for Rodney.

Hey I'm in for helping out as needed!  As long as it's not when we have family vacation planned (which is in, of all places: Yellowstone  Wink).  Do we get to vote on the date for this event?

Just excited that I should finally be able to go this wild and crazy event and meet some of y'all face2face!
